hello,
I have few questions before I flash to MIUI 1.8.19, since the latest MIUI support GB Bootloader, currently I am on GB2.3.4 JVR stock ROM + Kernel Semaphare 1.5.0:

1) I notice my internal SD having some alien folders and files, is it possible to "format" my phone back to day 1?

2) Can I flash back to Stock ROM after I have flashed to MIUI or other customed ROM? Can I just flash back using Odin in normal way?

3) Any MIUI user here keen to share what are the MIUI limitations and problems?

Many thanks in advance !

I had frozen the 'Market Updater' app with Titanium Backup, so my market is still the old one.

I have a previous Titanium backup set with the old Market app, so I protected that backup item, just in case the Market got auto-updated. And not surprisingly, within days my Market app got updated again. Then, I found a tip online (probably @ xda-dev) about freezing the 'Market Updater' app. So I froze that app, and restored my market app back to 2.3.6. 1 week plus now, the app is still the old one smile.gif

The main tool that enabled me to do these things is Titanium Backup Pro. The market app should auto update, as far as I know.

In CM7, using the latest gapps 20110729 will give you the new market too.

ok... thanks for the info.... I used App Monsters to back up my apps each time I install or update apps.
Maybe I am using none Asia ROM, so it doesn't update automatically.

mine ok with fugumod. moderate usage with wifi on bluethooth on all the way can last like 16 hours.
yes it is automatic feature but you can uninstall the update too. go into setting>application>market>uninstall update. or freeze it like kmrdeva did.
1. yes you can for mat your sdcard in recovery. mount and storage>format /sdcard
2.of cause you can go back to stock rom. just flash with 3 files and with repartition and pit file thats it.
3. with MIUI you cant make video call thru 3g network. 720p video recording problem(solved in galnet MIUI).

Try flashing a modem (i.e. XXJVS/XXJVT) from Perka's stash? Heard it will resolve the problem.
*

Hmm, might be something that is changing your prop settings. Check your local.prop and build.prop in /system and /etc. Or you're using the Tweaks app by CF-root/Semaphore to set it.
Did you try using Odin/CWM to install a modem? Did you replace your efs folder correctly? You might not be using root correctly?
Yes, it's the same smile.gif
*
i copied the /efs folder using root explorer and saved it in the PC, i didnt notice that the nv_data.bin & nv_data.bin.md5 inside the /efs foldder show 0bytes, but i do noticed .imei file still carry my correct IMEI.

i tried to restore using the copied /efs to the phone but still cannot, the phone created the new nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 itself.

I flashed the modem using ODIN and CWM. both doesn't bring my IMEI back. I called up the SSC yesterday, the guy keep asking me to bring the phone back to their SSC at plaze berjaya.

so down..... by the way, what happen if IMEI lost?

If IMEI is lost, you can't connect to your phone network. No calls/smses GPRS/3G etc.
*
This is something strange, I still can make call, receive call, smsing.....just like normal, the only thing is the IMEI is no longer mine.

Impossible. Is there a chance that you might have failed to realize that your IMEI is different all along? Got cheated by the seller?

If your EFS is corrupted, your IMEI would be:
004999010640000 or 000000000000000

There is no chance that your IMEI can change to something else, or this would be a bug that Samsung has failed to realize and people could clone other people's IMEI and eavesdrop on their SMS/Calls etc :S

I bought this phone from Maxis, and the sell person did show me the in phone IMEI, box IMEI and IMEI sticker, all matched. When I flashed Simplicity 1.5RC2, I noticed my IMEI changed. Despite that, I can choose VPN-Maxis 3G, use Nitranity to change my product code to XME etc. But Kies displayed the product code as (XXX). See the picture below..... look great right?

Wow. I always thought that changing your IMEI will bar you from connecting to your network. This is really weird.
*
Some I read prevent them to use market, some had no network and etc. mine just lucky I think.

Today's battery status, left the connected to Wifi when I was sleeping.

Unplugged @ 89% charge left, played with it a bit by bedside until left 88%. Woke up with 82% charge left.

I think this is a bigger bug than anything else. How could flight mode consumes more battery juice??  doh.gif

you must have overcharged your phone, this happened to me.
