Guys how do i ensure that i am not running 3G when i am roaming in Singapore?
Anyway am i able to retain my Go Launcher Ex theme and GOTO Lockscreen if i root and flash with Litening Rom? Another thing is there are a few version of Litening rom available, Lite'ning Rom 5.0 is the latest one and should i flash that after i root my device? Also when i turn off my device at the right button, it did not shut off like the old tv set, it just shut off like those normal iphone hut off, just go lank screen, how to get that shut off tv effects? QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 12 2011, 10:57 PM) Save your breath dude. You yourself said that it's individual preference. And he mention it perfectly loud and clear that he PREFER something solid and heavy..!! Rilek la bro, he just give his or her opinions, dont need to be all sarcastic and stuff la bro, just let it pass cause now you already sounded like an angry offended keyboard warrior.Obviously our beloved SGSII that is really slim, almost weightless with great performance was NOT ON his preference of choice. That's why i'm saving us all by suggesting.., no wait.., INSISTING that he should go and buy HTC Sensation which is surely big, heavy and strong rather than hearing his complaint and whinning in this thread :-P ~~ lol ~~ |

1.Hi why does one say get litening and stay away from villain for beginner? If they way to root for.both are the same than why does one say that that the latter are not for begginner?
2.how about cyanogenmod7 compared to litening? 3.there are many version of litening which are for which or the bigger the number the latest it is? 4. i understand that in order to backup the rom i need a clockworkmod; -what is clockworkmod image? -do i need an sdcard to backup and image gile of my current os before flash a new os? QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 14 2011, 07:36 AM) I'll try to answer most of your question though i still at stock rom :-P Ok let me test my understanding here.1) - Ppl always advice go for Litening if you want to try custom rom because flashing Litening is the most simplest way for you in order to get a) root b) superuser c) busybox d) CWM e) nice custom rom with one go. This rom wont wipe anything so you wont lost any of your precious data. 2) - CM7 is basically a rom that are void of any Samsung things. It's more as an AOSP rom plus additional tweaks. 3) - Yes, for Litening rom the bigger number the latest it is though it doesn't mean the more stable it is :-P To root and flash: 1.enter downloading mode on sgs2 2.download odin 3.follow the steps and root 4.dload cwm from android market 5.backup 6.use odin to load litening rom 7.flash litening rom 8.dont like the rom 9.open cwm and restore anything i missing? |

QUOTE(kazama82 @ Aug 14 2011, 08:47 AM) root using CF-Root will install CWM on your phone..so no need dload from market..then you backup .other step okay..but another thing if you want to add, dload Titanium Backup, backup all your apps first if just incase you in bootloop or need to wipe...and also dload sms backup to backup all your sms and call log if you need that..also...sync your contact with your gmail.. Thanks guys,Ive read the tutorial from here http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/08/co...back-restore-it that i can use cwm itself to flash a rom? In that case, if i use chainfire to root, it will grant me a rooted device, busybox, superuser and cwm rite? And then backup before loading litening into sdcard.and flash thru cwm? Any advice? |

QUOTE(ltwvince @ Aug 14 2011, 09:50 AM) Dude, you've not even rooted and thinking on flashing litening rom. You're damn good. Don't know how to walk and want to run. Ok i look at this video tutorial:Just go with CF-root. The easiest way to get rooted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiielGhyTDA...be_gdata_player And i see that there an exclamation yellow triangke during the start, how to remove that? In the video it use jig. 2. the clockworkmod in the video is not the same as the one in the tutorial i pasted before? Which one? which video guide? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 14 2011, 09:55 AM) Why don't you just follow my simple tutorial which I have pointed out and explain in detail . Dont confuse yourself further So you mean the cwm in chainfire is diff from the one in rom manager?Litening if you have took time to read up his rom features require you to flash it using ODIN not through recovery mode I repeat again: If you want root only : Use odin and flash supercurio3 or use Superoneclick If you want root and recovery installed only and do not want any changes to rom: Use odin flash Chainfire root4 If you want root/recovery/and wish to try a custom rom that will not wipe your data : Flash Litening 5 The article you have pointed out is a GENERAL consept of flashing and for your info NOT all roms are compatible to be used with Rom Manager. If you read page 1, I have never say or encourage users to use Rom Manager. Certain roms can work well with it. But why bother using something that is not fully compatible ? Just use trusted 100% releiable clockword mod recovery from Chainfire ( can say is the best) or from CWM generated from other kernels flash eg Nionphetamine. Speedmod The cwm in chainfire need me to go to recovery mode. Argghh...too many readings now i am confused which one ... any video tutorial |

QUOTE(Teng N @ Aug 14 2011, 10:05 AM) If the intention is just to flash litening, I think goes straight to Odin and flash. Litening. Does not requires you to pre root. Its package will root and install cwm for you when flashing litening itself. Thanks benny888, once charged i will try.Ok benny888, if i root together with glashing litening room, how do i revert back to original state then? which guide is it that i can read to? Why dont you read page 1 carefully first, dude. :-P anyway, once done rooting and reflash back stock kernal, BEFORE flashing to LITENING rom, how can i do a backup on my sd card? is it from the cwm recovery mode? can i follow this guide to flash LITENING ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 This post has been edited by sLapshock: Aug 14 2011, 12:29 PM |
