@anevilx there quite a few good Jap restaurants that don't serve pork. But because of the sake, they don't have halal certification. Is this good enough for you?

Any restaurant that serves alcohol can't qualify for halal cert, not just Japanese.

Correct...that's why you don't see any Japanese restaurant get halal cert.

Sushi King halal except their Soy Sauce.

That's why they can't apply for the Halal logo.

Hi, there is one pork free Japanese restaurant at Kota Kemuning Shah Alam called Kokoro Bento. Their food is authentic and delicious and prices are very reasonable as it is a neighborhood restaurant; they have quite a number of Malay customers. As mentioned by someone else, authentic Japanese food must have mirin and sake as ingredients, but alcohol of the cooking wine will be evaporated totally at cooking temperature 75 Celsius. Here is their facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/Kokoro.Bento.my

Hey guys!!
I've been to Shogun japanese buffet in Solaris Mont Kiara lately and I loved it! You have so much good food for a more than reasonable price. The raw buffet is huge: sushi, sashimi, seafood, even soft shell crab! (my favorite). It's worth it you should go ^^

Btw I wrote a review there http://vibehero.com/kuala_lumpur/restauran...rant_mont_kiara

You can find some other good restaurants on that website it is really convenient!!

There's one at Jaya 33. It's called Ramen Ten & Shin. Apparently it's Singapore's 1st halal Japanese restaurant.

Many nice Japanese restaurants are pork free but they have to keep alcohol for japanese customers that's why can not obtain halal certificate.

ichiban ramen is very good, many chinese would eat there. i myself can't let go even the last drop of soup. their chicken chashu ramen really nice. their pot stickers/dumping also very good.

there's an authentic japanese restaurant at the ground floor of plaza masalam shah alam, a lot of japanese customers dining there. a highly recommended place. but they have separate counter for alcohol.

imo sushi king is like pirated dvd, i wouldn't go there. i'd rather buy sushi from jusco aeon if i must.
