well yeah another thread XD i think always having thread like this is normal since most buyer don't want to regret after buying XD this kind of thread is always nice for buyer to hav better understanding before fanboys come in and ruin it XD here is some of my opinion on your question:
well, ps4 n xbox720 may come out in a year or two later, but u need to ask yourself,
will u buy a newly launched console for a relatively higher price mayb at rm1.5k o 2k?
will u buy a newly launched console that only have few titles been released?
buying a console now and played for a year or two or mayb more and then change to another newer console seem acceptable in my opinion jz like changing a new handphone...
anyway a new slimmer ps3 already been launched at japan with a bigger hdd capacity 500gb...
i personally think xbox kinect is better than ps3 move. if u prefer playing kinect o move, mayb u can try consider the nintendo wii u that will launched by the end of this year. it has "bayonetta 2" exclusive on for it   
the never ending debate XD, here is my opinion:
- controller: xbox controller better for fps, ps3 controller never change ever ps1...
my opinion go and try at shops or ur frens house and see which controller layout that u prefer more. no point ppl said gud but u dun like it XD

- games:
xbox exclusive - halo, gears of war, project gotham racing and so on...
ps3 exclusive - metal gear solid, god of war, gran turismo, resistance, uncharted and many more japan released rpg/action games such as white knight chronicle, tales of graces, disgaea, one piece and many more...

- gamer community: at malaysia ps3 seem to hav larger community than xbox XD
