Didn't Sony just release the new PS3 slim? Thus, you can expect the ps3 to be here for at least another 2 years. They've also stated something like "not until 2015" (I'll find the source from the expo if I can remember.)

Also, depending on the games you play? There are a lot of PS3 exclusives and Xbox has some of their own games as well.
