Dont expect PS3/Xbox perform well with your 27 inch monitor as well.
If you read spec, PS3 using RSX Chipset from nvidia, is a revamp version of GT7700 chipset. GTX8800 run 2x faster...

@TS: my opinion is, see what type of game u wanna play.. like me, i buy ps3 because of jrpg game.. since u can spend 6k for ur pc, i guess u will have no prob in anything u choose (or u can just buy both xbox and ps3).. maybe u can check out "Console Couch" maybe u can find something there coz this is garage sale
