If you buy, be prepared to have a much poorer resale value. Chinese buyers normally would avoid. Malays and Indians are still ok with them.
Safety wise, it has not been strongly proven whether it is safe or not. A search online doesn't give much conclusive details. Best is try to seek alternatives to this. |

Actually the house i really like it..its huge and below market price.
When i view the house it looks alright. The TNB house have no noise and seem ok.Its Calm and silent. But again i just worry whether issit hazzardous to health? Added on August 8, 2011, 4:36 pmSearch all over internet.. fengshui also said is no good. But then is like 200K below market value.. i felt people not buy not bcos the TNB but more like the house need renovation..which i prepare to do it but again i scare risking my baby health and also knowing the resell value too This post has been edited by Yukieliow: Aug 8 2011, 04:37 PM |

Near to TNB better avoid la. I am not sure whether it is proven or not proven whether it will effect your health or not. But one thing for sure is when u want to resale the value is either lower or it take longer to sell it. I feel people would rather take house number 444444 then nearer to TNB.

People with engineering background will know it poses no threat to your health, scientifically proven and assured.
But the problem is perception, common perception, feng shui perception, if one is sick they can easily just blame whatever it could be. The same with high tension cable, 50m is the safe radius. but ppl saw it 1km away also takut dy. come to think bout it, EE engineers deal with electromagnectic fields everyday, their exposure are much higher but do they die young? Anyway, since you already have your doubt at this phase, my suggestion is - no |

tnb house aka pencawant elektrik ? if yes..mean its damn safe...what inside only lv board/switchgear and transformer..even its explode...not big enaugh like c4 to make a ground zero like crate ...and its very rare to have bad thing happen unless the thieft itself start the flashover huhu ...as u can see itself on higher building where they have the tnb room at the bottom..much lesser clearance unlike the outside PE anyway
just my 2 cent |

May I know how close is the TNB building itself from your house?
What if the TNB sub station compound is seperated by a small lane, will it be better? How far away will it be acceptable for those who wants to play safe? What about the 2nd house from TNB, is that OK? I never really thought about TNB subs station as risky. All the while, I only hear about power grid lines which can cause cancer. Is the public perception of the TNB substation as bad as the power gridlines? |

QUOTE(ydingo @ Aug 8 2011, 06:12 PM) hmm I thought it was this one when I first read the post “At a meeting on Aug 20 last year, the board concluded that a TNB sub-station should not be attached to the house.http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file...386&sec=central “TNB also agreed that a distance of 6m should be maintained between the house and the sub-station,” Arutchelvan said. Added on August 8, 2011, 11:38 pm1 foot = 0.3048 meters Assume one house 22x75. Therefore, one house's wide is 6.7056 meter. Hence, the 2nd house from TNB room is safe enough. If you are buying for own stay, then I supposed worth considering depending on the cited price. Thanks I find it amazing how many people would tell you of adverse health risks even though they have no medical training nor any scientific background. Go google for answers and you will find no concrete studies on it. At least mobile phone has mixed research results. Personally I have quite a number of properties beside TNB or high tension wires and they are giving me good returns whilst others shun it. Factually I have just bought a piece of development land beside it just a couple of weeks ago. |

And so far there are no prove or evidence saying is safe or not staying next to it.There are even researh in UK about probable of kids getting leukemia too. Just better to avoid I drop it. |

That's like a one house width. Don't think most of the developers will follow that. Even one lorong is better than sharing your wall. |

QUOTE(Maverick2011 @ Aug 11 2011, 08:46 PM) now, a lot of current semi D and banglo build beside high tension cable, like about 50-60 feet away only... hence, a lot of kelana jaya old residents staying beside high tension cable, seem no such decease reports which caused by high tension cable... even worst that kelana jaya both shell petrol station build right beside high tension cable... |
