Dear all bikers,

Here's my problem icon_question.gif Im about to buy a 2005 Yamaha R6 with quite a good deal i believe and its within my budget. However as we all know, 03,04,05 R6 has not much noticeable difference in terms of looks.. and im quite drooled by the 06,07,08 R6 where the overall facelifted design is much nicer than the 05 R6!

Now, i would be able to get the 2005 R6 without a problem (financially speaking) and im quite eager to get myself a superbike! but in actual fact, i like the 06,07,08 series more than the 05 series!

Should i save for another month or two to get the 08 R6 or should i just start off with the 05 R6? I am quite an impulse buyer and hates to wait but because of financial constraint, i couldnt get the 08 R6 YET mad.gif

So what do u all say guys? however, besides from the looks, is there any difference in terms of performance that would deter u from getting a 05 R6 and a 08 R6?

Thanks guys!!

this is the one that im looking at smile.gif as u can see the headlights are different from the 06-08 series. give some opinion. - - imported from the states
- mileage 26K
- modded micron exhaust
- test ride before, clean n powerful, tip-top conditon

my only concern is the looks only now cry.gif

hey there fellow biker... ok.. in my opinion.. wait for another 2-3 months so that u can get the 08 R6... it'll be worth the wait... performance wise.. I think it's generally better and I think is lighter too.. not sure about that..

happy riding...

i think its better to wait for the facelifted model, because theres quite abit of changes internally, not just the outside

why not just wait.. how much is the 05 R6..? since u asking us for our opinion right.. most of us would just ask u to wait. there are a lot more bikes out there.. waiting wont cause any harm. the harm is the money... icon_rolleyes.gif

USD 4700 x RM 3.20 would work out to be RM 15,040 excluding taxes if any....have u factored this in ?

However if youre gonna pay just RM 15 k for a superbike....u can do it cash without getting loans...then my suggestion is to get this first...assuming youre new to superbiking, then save up for something bigger...

firstly u need to get accustomed to biking....with its pros and cos as well as do not ever forget 1 thing most newbies tend to forget...

RIDING GEAR...and mind u...it can cost a bomb....

Then again, the reason u ask the initial question between a new r6 or old is, is definitely about budget constraints or rather budget comparisons...

Hence, paying RM15k for just the bike....u can save up to buy gear, then learn how to ride properly, then save up for a one liter.....
