when locking your car, pls observe and make sure that both repeater lights on side mirror blinks twice as it folds. if you armed your alarm, and the mirror folds but the repeater lights didnt blnk, means its not properly locked or door not properly closed
*
you want to test alarm is simple

follow this step -
1) Wind down your window
2) Lock your car
3) unlock from inside ( through your winded window)
4) Open the door

voila - the alarm will ring

*
auxiliary connector is located in somewhere really stupid!

its located at your glove compartmetn ( you need to open your glove compartment ) and you see a white sticker with an aux hole.

im not sure why the design is as such but its a turn off when i need to plug my ipod in

any ford focus 2.0 tdci or petrol owners here? is it normal that the bottom lamp on the back is 1 white and 1 red plastic cover?
*
the rear white is reverse light...the other red one is not a cover...its the rear fog light

to activate that light - you need to turn on your headlight, fog light and then pull the light lever one more time ( pull out 2 times ) to activate the rear fog light

Saw the 2012 Focus hatch cruising at Glenmarie yesterday. I must say it's gorgeous when looked in real flesh, much better than rendered in pictures. I've read and watched the review on the net and it's been well applause because of the leaps and bounds improvement over its predecessor although the styling is becoming more conservative. Even the interior is getting premium. This should be a serious contender for Golf TSi only it's cheaper.

Well, I saw one particular drawback, Ford has decided to remove the aircond vent/blower for the rear passengers which the predecessor has. Other than that it should be bang for the buck owning it.
*
not really. it has been relocated to the front of the passenger seat.

If Ecoboost comes - i will sell mine and get it. However - it depends if the ECU is locked like most of the latest fords - fiesta, focus, mondeo ...all the 2011 model onwards are locked so u cant do a remap.

Are you referring to FoFo Titanium? so, the "S" gives how many gears? 4 or 6? can somebody test it out? My car still not arrive yet..... cannot test!
*
Guys, i dono who started this 'only can access 1-2-3-4.

the guy that started it must be an idiot that does not know how to drive.

The 6 speed powershift allows you to access ALL 6 gears. There is no such thing as accessing 1-2-3-4 ONLY in S.

The Gearbox has its on ECU that monitors the gearbox parameter ( DCT/PCM) and being dsg it keeps the next gear inline in standby, as soon as you are gear 2, it keeps gear 3 in standby. The only way you cant achieve gear 5-6 is you drive like a nanny - however i dont think it stops you from achieving the other 2 gears.

HOWEVER here's the downside to the Powershift. There is a limiter in the gearbox that does not allow you to downshift freely like a manual. To downshift from 4 to 3, you need to be around 2K or 2.5k RPM - then only it allows you to downshift....same goes from 3 to 2 ( however it may be around 1.5-2k RPM). Its not a fault with the box...its the box protecting itself smile.gif

hahaha ok my bad. i thought the MPI engine is on the K5.

the focus has powershift so plus minus 10 percent loss at transmission instead of the usual 20-30% on crapbox

The SA told me this during the Focus Event@Glenmarie
Check on ford website, it only mentioned on the suspension, bigger rim and diff tyre as well
[attachmentid=3081180]

i also a bit curious. from the paper, it have the same engine, same cc, same Compression ratio...
even the max power and torque also same
so how to say is "sport tuning" ?

i ask jln ipoh Auto Connexion SA regarding this, his answer is kind of : Sport tuning will drag longer only change gear, that's y will more powerful.  rolleyes.gif

Actually i also dare not ask for test drive on the ST  sweat.gif

All focus in its generation ( since MK2 ) has different suspension for hatch and sedan.

The sedan is less firmer, more comfort. The hatchback is tune better road holding ( not really that good anyway imho).

Anyone have any idea on focus waiting period? ready stock available ?
SA just inform that loan approved, so estimate when can get the car?
cant wait to own it  tongue.gif

Added on October 3, 2012, 11:19 pm
I guess the price will be nice as well  tongue.gif

was thinking,
2.0 high spec focus selling 129k
2.0 ecoboost focus ST selling 209k
adding that ecoboost need 80k extra  sweat.gif
some more ST don't have those auto park, citi stop features...

but of coz the power is ...  sweat.gif
*
This is where you are wrong. The ST is tuned everything. The general focus ecoboost comes in 1.6 L Ecoboost. I

Mondeo/ST uses the 2 liter ecoboost only diff is ST is tuned slightly higher and a manual. Mondeo pushes out 240PS whilst the ST 250 PS.

get the stock tdci, knn filter, remove the cat and spend about 2ish K to remap it via dktuning - you can easily get 180hp with 410nm torque...on WHEEL !

no car in that price range nor in the sub 170k range can give you that power tongue.gif.

Still thinking hard to let the benefits of fuel consumption ( 7l/100km at 180KMh) for the ST.

with all these aes etc, i am reluctant but who knows.
