QUOTE(zenix @ Oct 1 2012, 07:08 PM) for genting/ulu yam warriors like me torque is king. if i'm taking the low spec, then i will choose the sport for example my little 1.5cc car with 168nm torque at 1250rpm beats even 2.5cc cars going up genting yeap, diesel doesn't evaporate into air try the HQ at fedral highway. i have been throughly poisoned. you wanna get more poisoned by this baby look at the tunning potential in DKTUNING website congrats. i would have taken the sedan with BLIS too if i was going to buy one. new focus needs to rev to 6500rpm only can get max power. tdci only needs to rev to 4000 to get max power. new focus only give you 202nm torque when you floor it to 4550rpm, so you need power you need to tekan it for pickup loh. tdci can give you everything at 2000rpm which is almost instant. you won't break your neck but after initial gear engagement it kicks you back to the seat like a mule. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 2 2012, 11:36 AM) Are u sure? I thought the Sports mode is just to prevent faster upshifts so that you get more torque at lower gears. As i remember that day while i test drive, i tried the sport mode and shift to 6th gear. anyway maybe better to let those who already get their focus to clarify QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 2 2012, 09:45 AM) The K5 engine isnt as refined as the Japs or the Conti's for sure. But the 2.0L MPI version gives out 163Hp and 198Nm torque which no Jap 2.0L comes close. But its still underpowered for its body weight and the engine sounds loud after 3000RPM. But during idling, the engine is quite silent and sounds refined. If ure in the car during an idle stop, you would barely know the engine is on if u dont look at the information cluster. i just notice that k5 is 2.0 and hp is lower then focus Why worry about max speeds? How fast can you possibly go on a Malaysian highway anyway? Many K5 drivers have hit 210kmph and thats about as fast as u can reach before traffic slows you down. But why bother going that fast anyway and endangering your life and other road users? U cant get everything in a car. Some cars with engine refinement and comfort (e.g new Camry) have disappointing specs & old tech. Others have good ride & handing and good specs too but are also priced much higher and have less interior space. In the end, it boils down to what's important for you. If you want a great design, top safety ratings, good interior space, good specs, best in class warranty terms and a reasonably priced D segment car, then the K5 is for you. But if engine refinement and handling is more important then ure better off with a conti albeit at a higher price of course. |

QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Oct 2 2012, 07:48 PM) there are big different when opening and closing the sunroof. which means with the sunroof closed, the NVH is good. btw i think u should choose the plus or non-plus from other view instead of the sunroof. for example : - do you think BLIS is a good features and would like to have it on your car ( if u are taking sedan ) - is Auto park, active city stop, HID, cruise control, auto dimm rear view mirror... do you need those? - front parking sensor, which i feel is nice to have. but not sure do u feel that too - curtain airbag above is those that have on + version compare to non + hope that help Added on October 2, 2012, 8:28 pm QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Oct 2 2012, 08:22 PM) thats why said you're assuming things lo i also only tested on the sedan, never try on the hatch as i more interested on sedah i dunno, im in the car revving the car till ~6k rpm, it didn't seem loud to me, and i am comparing it to my iswara who has its bonnet sound proofed/dampened by STP bonnet solution lol (which is pretty quiet for an old car mind you, only really audible after 3-4k rpm or red lining) =edit= to further clarify: on road driving around 120-130km/h sit in car with doors closed (yes will have road noise too, but thats the best comparison since you get genuine engine load) Added on October 2, 2012, 8:24 pm sorry not owner, and when i test driven, no rain This post has been edited by terdit: Oct 2 2012, 08:28 PM |

QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Oct 2 2012, 08:31 PM) well that's the thing, is it worth 13K? I'm aiming for the hatch, so BLIS is out already unfortunately, or else it wud be a much easier decision. my point of view : Like/Need: Curtain Airbags Active City Stop HIDs!! Dislike: Price (duhh) Sunroof The rest neutral... Curtain Airbags - of coz this is important, safety always come first. Active City Stop - not as useful as expected. tested this during the ford focus event, it is kind of emergency break when the car moving <30km/h toward an reflect-able object. I'm thinking if during traffic jam, the car behind would had hit your back. maybe this features only will show it's usefulness during certain situation. HIDs - no comment as never try HID before, so cant compare. Price - 13k really not a small amount Sunroof - for me, not really that important. Malaysia weather don't really need it. but maybe you have your own reason to have it. i more impress on the BLIS, so i choose + version. i make my choice by this way : if to get low spec, go for hatch; if high spec then go for sedan. but too bad, u cant mix up the features, it's on 2 different version |

QUOTE(zenix @ Oct 3 2012, 02:49 PM) where you get this info? The SA told me this during the Focus Event@Glenmarie everyone i talked to said the difference between the sedan/hatch is BLIS, seats and rims. i was there too. nobody really wanna talk to me. later asked about the tdci the guy said not in showroom only be back after 3. i went off. i can understand if they don't allow test drive unless we make a car booking like honda civic type r owners had to endure then but at least have a car to see. Check on ford website, it only mentioned on the suspension, bigger rim and diff tyre as well i also a bit curious. from the paper, it have the same engine, same cc, same Compression ratio... even the max power and torque also same so how to say is "sport tuning" ? i ask jln ipoh Auto Connexion SA regarding this, his answer is kind of : Sport tuning will drag longer only change gear, that's y will more powerful. Actually i also dare not ask for test drive on the ST This post has been edited by terdit: Oct 3 2012, 03:00 PM |

QUOTE(Alvin89 @ Oct 3 2012, 04:57 PM) honestly, i dont feel Auto Connexion will bring in fiesta with ecoboost, at least wont so soon.1. Current fiesta seems bring in quite a good sales figure for ford, if they bring in ecoboost now, then will spoil their current fiesta market. 2. Current 1.6 fiesta is with price around 90k. if they bring in ecoboost fiesta, how much will they sell? above reason same go to Focus as well. anyhow that just my own thinking |

QUOTE(Phantom Renegade @ Oct 3 2012, 11:07 PM) Another word to put it is- "Turbocharged" Cheaper road tax with higher power Basically an ecoboost Ford means a Ford that got turbo... in another words again... more torque and HP while maintaining lesser fuel (by Ford's Definition / tuning / what ever they did to the engine that made it consume less fuel). |

QUOTE(chuakz @ Oct 3 2012, 11:23 PM) u missing the point man...the 1.0 ecoboost is the replacement for the 1.6 duratec we get now...the 1.6 ecoboost is the replacement for the 2.0 duratec found in the focus here...they will cost the same....ST is a different animal... of coz i know can't compare like that just try to figure out how much the ecoboost cost Added on October 4, 2012, 12:17 am QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Oct 4 2012, 12:09 AM) anyone got any good deals for the new focus? am thinking of pulling the trigger oon the new ford focus d... 2013 car maybe.... i get 1k discount from my SA it that consider good ? QUOTE(thefryingfox @ Oct 4 2012, 12:38 AM) This is where you are wrong. The ST is tuned everything. The general focus ecoboost comes in 1.6 L Ecoboost. I ya i know it cant be calculate in that way Mondeo/ST uses the 2 liter ecoboost only diff is ST is tuned slightly higher and a manual. Mondeo pushes out 240PS whilst the ST 250 PS. QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Oct 4 2012, 12:47 AM) which SA is it? do u know when will the first batch of 2013 car is available? not sure about the 2013 first batchAdded on October 4, 2012, 12:48 am now still not consider year end? :-S I guess the year end sales already started. Auto ConneXion giving 4k discount for fiesta (forgotten which type), but my SA told me fiesta got 5.5k discount my SA is from Chinese Cari forum. i can PM u her contact if you wan Added on October 4, 2012, 1:01 am QUOTE(zenix @ Oct 4 2012, 12:58 AM) u r correct. too bad i unable to wait, no car to use although the ST uses essentially the same block from the Mondeo its not an engine swap only. intake and exhaust is new. and of course the ecu is tuned for performance while mondeo is for fetching fat bosses. did you know that - the 2.0 ecoboost lump is essentially just one cylinder short of the one in the 2.5 turbo xr5? just launched not consider year end. if the cars don't move they sure panic and give more discounts This post has been edited by terdit: Oct 4 2012, 01:03 AM |
