for genting/ulu yam warriors like me torque is king.
for example my little 1.5cc car with 168nm torque at 1250rpm beats even 2.5cc cars going up genting 
yeap, diesel doesn't evaporate into air

i would have taken the sedan with BLIS too if i was going to buy one.
new focus needs to rev to 6500rpm only can get max power.
tdci only needs to rev to 4000 to get max power.

new focus only give you 202nm torque when you floor it to 4550rpm, so you need power you need to tekan it for pickup loh.

tdci can give you everything at 2000rpm which is almost instant.
you won't break your neck but after initial gear engagement it kicks you back to the seat like a mule.

yeah.... not sure how many of us drive with both hand stick to the steering..... especially when cornering!

Are you referring to FoFo Titanium? so, the "S" gives how many gears? 4 or 6? can somebody test it out? My car still not arrive yet..... cannot test!

Are u sure? I thought the Sports mode is just to prevent faster upshifts so that you get more torque at lower gears.

The K5 engine isnt as refined as the Japs or the Conti's for sure. But the 2.0L MPI version gives out 163Hp and 198Nm torque which no Jap 2.0L comes close. But its still underpowered for its body weight and the engine sounds loud after 3000RPM. But during idling, the engine is quite silent and sounds refined. If ure in the car during an idle stop, you would barely know the engine is on if u dont look at the information cluster.

Why worry about max speeds? How fast can you possibly go on a Malaysian highway anyway? Many K5 drivers have hit 210kmph and thats about as fast as u can reach before traffic slows you down. But why bother going that fast anyway and endangering your life and other road users?

U cant get everything in a car. Some cars with engine refinement and comfort (e.g new Camry) have disappointing specs & old tech. Others have good ride & handing and good specs too but are also priced much higher and have less interior space. In the end, it boils down to what's important for you. If you want a great design, top safety ratings, good interior space, good specs, best in class warranty terms and a reasonably priced D segment car, then the K5 is for you. But if engine refinement and handling is more important then ure better off with a conti albeit at a higher price of course.

Anyone can help me with this question? Really on the fence to plus or not to plus....

i dunno, im in the car revving the car till ~6k rpm, it didn't seem loud to me, and i am comparing it to my iswara who has its bonnet sound proofed/dampened by STP bonnet solution lol (which is pretty quiet for an old car mind you, only really audible after 3-4k rpm or red lining)

to further clarify:
on road driving around 120-130km/h sit in car with doors closed (yes will have road noise too, but thats the best comparison since you get genuine engine load)

well that's the thing, is it worth 13K? I'm aiming for the hatch, so BLIS is out already unfortunately, or else it wud be a much easier decision.

everyone i talked to said the difference between the sedan/hatch is BLIS, seats and rims.
i was there too.
nobody really wanna talk to me.
later asked about the tdci the guy said not in showroom only be back after 3.
i went off.
i can understand if they don't allow test drive unless we make a car booking like honda civic type r owners had to endure then but at least have a car to see. 

My gf is waiting facelift fiesta..hope by next yr reach malaysia with the ecoboost!

but i dont think that we gonna get it next yr if they launch it...current version only being introduced into our country 2 years later of lauching, and the current new ranger waiting list is around >6mths to 9mths if not mistaken???

Another word to put it is- "Turbocharged"
Basically an ecoboost Ford means a Ford that got turbo... in another words again... more torque and HP while maintaining lesser fuel (by Ford's Definition / tuning / what ever they did to the engine that made it consume less fuel).

u missing the point man...the 1.0 ecoboost is the replacement for the 1.6 duratec we get now...the 1.6 ecoboost is the replacement for the 2.0 duratec found in the focus here...they will cost the same....ST is a different animal...

anyone got any good deals for the new focus? am thinking of pulling the trigger oon the new ford focus d... 2013 car maybe....

This is where you are wrong. The ST is tuned everything. The general focus ecoboost comes in 1.6 L Ecoboost. I

Mondeo/ST uses the 2 liter ecoboost only diff is ST is tuned slightly higher and a manual. Mondeo pushes out 240PS whilst the ST 250 PS.

which SA is it? do u know when will the first batch of 2013 car is available?

u r correct.
although the ST uses essentially the same block from the Mondeo its not an engine swap only.
intake and exhaust is new.
and of course the ecu is tuned for performance while mondeo is for fetching fat bosses.

did you know that - the 2.0 ecoboost lump is essentially just one cylinder short of the one in the 2.5 turbo xr5?
just launched not consider year end.
if the cars don't move they sure panic and give more discounts 

go every shop surely one will give you the discount.
