Hi All,

I'm looking into getting a Ford Fiesta early next year... the blue hatchback fiesta S (so gorgeous  drool.gif )

Got a few questions maybe the sifus here can answer.

1) I hear there's a new model coming soon? Next year? Should I wait for the new model?
2) There's a 2k price increase on the new model? Read that somewhere in this thread. Is it immediately going to effect Jan 1st?
3) Any news of new colors? Saw some of the new colors on the US Fiesta 2012, the lime green is also really nice  drool.gif
4) How's the fuel consumption like on the car? My current car, a Satria Neo, is really hopeless in this regard...RM60 full tank can only go less than 300km  doh.gif How many km are you guys averaging per full tank?
5) Not a big deal, but are there ipod controls on the car? Meaning you can control an ipod with the buttons on the steering.

Looking to book the car end of the year or early Jan, depending on the whole price increase thingy. Sales offers welcome  tongue.gif
*
1. No new model coming in.. At least not till 3rd Quarter.
2. Price increase is due to some tax, from Jan onward estimate RM2,000 - RM4,000
3. So far, no news with new color. Our car is import from Thai.. If there is new color Thai would have it now.
4. FC from owner : 6L/100KM
5. Not sure bout the iPod thingy.

6. Offer sent wink.gif hehe

Don't know any. It'll probably work fine with any external gauges you can find at car accessories shop.

i m not sure about fiesta, but for focus we can enter the diagnostic menu to check the temp.

turn the ignition off, hold the menu select button, n turn on the switch. start the engine.

u will enter the diagnostic menu n u can browse to temp n check temp.

or u wanna monitor temp standalone itself like the defi meters?

I see. Sorry being noob. Is the gauge using the existing built-in sensor or external one?

can any after-market double DIN stereo head unit nicely fit in and replace the FORD FOCUS manufacturer set ?

it would be great to be able to replace a new set with 7" high definition LCD touch screen, DVD player, navigation ... !!!

hey guys, i got few questions about ford fiesta, im considering of getting the 1.4L in january but im having doubts since i found alot of bad reviews regarding the after sale services.

1. please correct me if im wrong, but ive been hearing keep on saying that ford parts are ridiculously expensive especially from ford focus owners. i also wanna know the price range differences in comparing with japanese or local cars.

2. is it possible to get a 3 doors fiesta in malaysia?

3. after sales service from SDAC is really bad n time consuming

4. is it possible to get a 1.6L fiesta in manual tranny?

2. There's no 3-door model being offered here
3. After sales service like in time taken in obtaining parts/claiming warranty? That would depend on what part is being claimed. I had a waterlogged rear lamp claimed via warranty replaced within 2 working days at SDAC PJ.
4. There's no 1.6 manual offered in M'sia.

As for Q1, can't say much since it's Ford Focus related but I'm sure it's not made in Malaysia. According to PaulTan's blog, it's CBU Philippines. Hence, the higher cost of parts due to freight+bunker costs, handling charges and taxes being levied at both shipping and destination ports. What I do know from casual chat with their staff is that SDAC keeps minimal stock on parts relating to the body (e.g. bonnet, doors, etc) due to space and working capital constraints. Whatever they have brought in is often used up fast (even the extras). If it's small parts like lamps, they can source for it quite easily since they are small, easy to store and does not tie up capital.

I really hate Malaysia Roadtax system. Totally ruined the chances of American big CC car come in.

Ford Mustang is a VERY damn cool looking car. Sells about 22K USD in USA, Same price, Honda Accord 2.4L also sell 21K in USA. just imaging if it wasnt the stupid roadtax system. Mustang would have sell @ 170-190K here. cry.gif

when u buy a 200K car, petrol price is not a prob, petrol is cheap here too. it is a 5.0L car, but the fuel consumption does not mean will equal 5.0L ferrari/Lambo car engine. its more like ~4.0L engine car. There is also a 3.7L engine.

And they also didnt officially bring in cool looking Chevrolet Camaro. doh.gif Basic model of those are selling about the same price too. 3.6L fine. Nissan Fairlady also 3.5L-3.7L lah.

Just had a bloody awful service experience at the Butterworth (PG) SDAC, the mechanic screwed up the Voice Control system on my Fiesta after I sent it in to check on a different problem X-( Better still was him then claiming that it wasn't his fault.

Very unprofessional and disappointing service there. Hope there's another service center opening soon in Penang.
