Haha the appeal is certainly tdci, those who have driven or own 1 will never want to buy petrol, unless it's ecoboost tongue.gif

just test drive titanium +.. round about 80-90kmh firm firm... very impressed.. any car same range or below works better? blis works fine as well.. actually my intension is on fiesta.. is it worth to top up for focus?

Definitely worth it, unless u are driving alone most of the time.. Fiesta is very small and not as comfortable, fine for single traveller or for ladies

Sure. The Focus is slightly more powerful. It has 5HP and 4Nm torque more. I test drove it twice already. Good handling too.

The Sports mode on most cars is for a more spirited drive not just for overtaking and hill climbing. If the Focus is the same as most cars, then the Sports mode actually 'holds' on to each gear longer before it upshifts thus giving you more acceleration albeit higher fuel consumption of course. The Sports mode uses more of the lower gears to create acceleration.

How about the refinement? Road noise vs the K5? Comfort i am sure K5 will be better laugh.gif

Using the previous gen focus tdci, the backseat is not that roomy but still ok lah.. Front seat definitely more comfortable than Vios, very stable car ( imagine doing 160km/h with both of my parents at the backseats and they don't realize it, all the way from Sg.Besi to Ayer Keroh Toll tongue.gif ), very very nice to drive, superb handling and best of all the steering feels great ( natural feel and just right right weight )

U drive diesel dun drive like petrol, when reach end of rev range the diesel will run out of breath.. for my tdci i always keep between 2-3k rpm, that's where the optimum amount of torque is available brows.gif

so just keep blipping to keep it within 2-3k?  hmm.gif  brows.gif

Haha don't need la, in D mode the transmission is programmed to upshift at around 2k rpm, if u hold it a little longer it can go to 3k++ .. Must adjust driving style if u are coming from petrol, tired of revving the nuts out of petrol but still going no where wink.gif

Very true. i step 30% of the gas in each increment. I notice totally flooring it, the pull effect is not as good compared to 30% increment flooring.

I keep my rev to around 2-3k also. Should play with the S mode and rev it to 2.8k then shift, really fun.  rclxms.gif

The torque is lower at higher rpm, that's why we are feeling like running out of breath but even at that kind of speed the torque is still more than petrol engine brows.gif

Hi Bliz,

Can you share how is the maintenance regime like for tdci ? Not familiar with Diesel cars. Any known risks/issues with diesel cars with our diesel quality and problems ?
*
The maintenance is currently free for first 3 years, normal 10k service is around RM4xx. major service no idea yet
