Good Brand but tainted in Malaysia by SDAC

I recently purchased a Ford Fiesta (TS please add me in the list =D) back about 2 months ago. Now I am at milleage less than 5k and my transmission system fail! My gear shift from 2nd to 3rd is giving a very bad vibration. It was really frustrating but I have to accept that factory defect is something that happens even for the best brand so I kept it cool.

BUT my recent experience with SDAC PJ really taint my Ford experience and I couldn't possibily recommend anyone else to get a Ford. My first bad taste was back in 2 months ago when I get a defected car charger port, it didn't work so I made an appointment to have it change, the technician suspected that fuse was blown, and guess how long it take them to change the fuse? WHOLE DAY! WHOLE FRAKIN' day! I waited from 9am till 4pm. Unbelievable.

And to set my appointment regarding my transmission problem, I have to go through the usual waiting period of a week, I don't understand how SDAC PJ operate here. I describe the problem to them, and this seemed to be quite serious, any prolong usage would damage my car even more, but they don't seem to understand as they treated my case like a normal car service and can only schedule me an appointment as early as one week ahead, they claim to schedule me the earliest time slot of the day so that I can drop it and head to work. All seemed still bearable but that's just the begininng of a nightmare.

When I took my car in on that day, the staff claimed that I did not make an appointment and asked me to take a queue to be slotted in. Needless to say, I was furious! I banged and smashed the service booklet as I told them "my case is urgent matter, my car is failing. I made the appointment, go check. I don't care, you sort it out" after the yada yada and huhhaa, the head of service En. Razali made the move to slot me in immediately.

So I left my car there and called them by 3pm to check out the problem, it's hard to call SDAC, the line was always engaged and went it got through, it's not possible to get hold to speak to the technical person. So after numurous call, I finally got to speak to the technician who worked in my case. He told me that they only updated the software and nothing else but it still fail, still require further testing till tomorrow so I asked them what's the worst case scenario, he said probably if gearbox fail, it will take 3 weeks to repair it. Needless to say, I went furious and lashed out on him again, how can it take 3 weeks to repair? That's just nonsense. Finally En. Razali (his head) spoke to me, he told me that's just the worst case scenario while waiting for the gear box to ship and I can temporary use my car while waiting for the gearbox. At least, I was reassured in the end but I am not impressed by the work progress, the whole day, all they did was software update.

Next day, by lunch time, I called in again to inquire the status, this time the technician suspected its clutch problem but still required further testing. I asked them whether they dismantled and looked into it. They claimed no, just by running drive test and listenning. I am slightly dissapointed that they didn't look into this possibiliy in the first place as it's the most obvious thing rather than updating software all the yada non sense but I understand its their SOP so I left them off the hook. So I collected the car by 3.30pm, nothing was done in 2 days except software udpdate that doesn't help. The technician said they will order the clutch and arrive in a week time, I am not impressed by their inventory but what can I say.

A week later again (Wednesday), I call in again to check on the parts arrival, as usual calling SDAC is like hell, when I finally got the technician, he said he will check and call me back. Needless to say, he never called (at this point SDAC already became just another f***ed up BN cronies JV, so it doesn't surprised me). So I took the initiative to call him again through the usual "SDAC call hell", he told me the part will arrive tomorrow so I told him can I send my car in tomorrow for part replacement, he said no. The best time slot they can give me is next week Tuesday, I was really frustrated, why the wait again? I thought this is an ongoing repair, why is it is being treated as new appointment again. But I already fed up in complaining and just take that appointment time.

So today (Saturday) I decided to call in to make sure my appointment is right on next Tuesday, afterall I've been through this before and wala, what do you know? The person failed to find my appointment in the system. I told her i made the appointment directly with the technician, and she said had to check with him who unfortunately not there (again). She promised to call me back and now still have not called back (No surprise).

And that's my 2 months experience with SDAC, can you imagine going through this for 3 years? Don't get yourself a Ford in Malaysia, because SDAC is just too incompetent, the 3 years warranty you are getting here is pretty much just 3 years of hell.

Guys, a question. I changed my Fiesta's rim to a wider offset.

My right rear tire seems to rub fender when going through bumpy/bouncy road. But never experienced that on the left side. Is it possible that the spring is relatively weaker than the left side? I installed spring buffer and this problem lessen but still rubs when heavyload and bumpyroad.

Will changing spring help?

To reset the ECU, just disconnect the battery terminals and leave the car for some time. (I do it occasionally and leave it around 2 hours) Then reconnect your battery, reset your radio channels and power windows.

Umm, if I were you, I'll change the screw. Ford purposely bent the screw so that you can't disconnect it. I don't know about the whole fuse thing though, but I'll take my chances with the battery though lol.
