I'm having a problem to access maybank2u.com.my website on my desktop pc only,I still can access m2u using my laptop though.

Ithought browser problem, tried different browser..IE,Firefox,Opera still cannot access (but maybank2u.com.sg & maybank online stock and other website still can be accesses)

Run AVAST antivirus,anti-malware....still the same cannot access the m2u website.

Anybody experienced the same thing ?

I had the same problem with google. Redirects to some weird search engine instead. Checked for virus, checked the host file. In the end, what worked was ...

Closed down firefox. Then ipconfig /flushdns.

dns poisoning?

Alright, I did everything you guys did, but failed.

But then I simply disable the new https thingy introduced in Lowyat.net board setting, I can open the Maybank2u Login page.

Using Mozilla btw.

singing Nirvana song - Rape Me:

i m not the only one .IIIII [3x]
i m not the only one...

so it seems my pc is not the only one with the proble. I have 3 browsers : IE, Firefox, - can't even loading www.maybank2u.com.my main page; Opera can loading main page and other sublinks, except LOGIN page.

i tried all above methods.. none works. I don't have anything "Lowyat.net board setting" in my pc. So cross that from my list.

weird thing is i can login from office pc. only my home pc got problem. i didn't install any new software or hardware since my last successfull login to M2U.

any suggestions?

Still, I don't know the specific culprit of this matter. This is what happened to me:

-It all started when I try to log in the MB2U for the first time with a laptop via wireless connection. I LOGGED IN.
Later I try to go to maybank's page via my main Desktop PC but I was redirected to a different page, something about 'DNS issues' and 'untrusted web page' written on that page.

-Panic, I ran the Virus and malware scan, clean. Flush the DNS thingy, still no access.

-Then with random thoughts, (using desktop PC) I disable the new HTTPS thingy introduced by LY.net, this: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1987851

-After disabling, I can logged in to MB2U like usual. thumbup.gif

(I'm using Mozilla Firefox btw, and Avast Antivirus.)

I can't tell anything much from this experience, only that it happened after I try to log in via desktop PC while the HTTPS thingy was enabled; before logged in via Laptop was accessible.

Still, I can't ruled out if it's that https thing that causes it because I only recently enabled it, and while during enable, I never tried to log in via Desktop.

now i just noticed, sometimes, maybank2u website is down for certain2 time.
usually early morning, such as 7am.

either u cant access the url at all (page cannot be displayed), or come out with warning of malicious site if using firefox.

just try again few minutes later and can access the website back.

if, u said can access with this 1 device and another cannot, at the device that can access, try to refresh, probably it is the cache, after refresh also cant access.

WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. If you encounter connection problems after removing network related software, Adware or after registry clean-up; and all other ways fail, then give WinSock XP Fix a try. It can create a registry backup of your current settings, so it is fairly safe to use. We tested it on a test machine that was having a Winsock problem due to some Adware removal, and after running the utility and rebooting, the connectivity was restored.

All,

I've drill down this problem to only affecting Windows XP user. As I've done almost everthing :

1. different browser - chrome, IE, Opera
2. DNS server - Open DNS, Google, Jaring, etc
3. https setting
4. Disabling all non microsoft apps on my pc
5. Malware/antivirus cleaner.

I've informed maybank about it, but we'll see what they do about it. Just want to check, anyone with other than XP use affected? and if anyone knows anyone working in Maybank IT or the outsourcing company, please let them know. This will ease their troubleshooting steps.

Hi, please check out this thread:

http://forums.opendns.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=10935

It is a discussion with OpenDNS and I've opened an official ticket.

Alternatives are to try GoogleDNS or modify the Hosts file.

This has been going on for almost two weeks with Maybank.

Added on August 17, 2011, 10:26 amOpenDNS support states: The authoritative DNS server is sending back a response at times that indicates the domain www.maybank2u.com.my does not exist. We are attempting to contact the authoritative DNS provider to resolve this issue.

I am not sure what this means exactly since my DNS knowledge is limited.

I sound biased but my guess is probably a problem on the Malaysia name servers side. (ns1 jaring)

so basically this software reset the Winsock using netsh winsock reset catalog command in SP2 to removes all the third-party LSPs and restores Winsock to factory default setting? rite
