Would anyone know? I work in Kg. Baru area. KLCC might be nearby but I hope their charges are not too much. I need to:

- Shorten sleeves SLIGHTLY as they are too long doh.gif
- Add leather buttons nod.gif
- Make sleeve buttons work, no fake buttons which don't work

Can such mods be done? hmm.gif

Have you asked whether they provide in-house alterations at M&S? I know they do at Zara.
Sleeves shortening is quite common, you can try Za Altera. I'm sure there's an alteration shop in KLCC but pricier.

Adding buttons? What buttons are you talking about?

Making working cuffs? Too much work (I'm no expert though), might cost a bomb. Why bother?

- Shorten sleeves almost all tailors can do it.
- Leather buttons? Are you sure?
- You could as the tailor to make them. But at what cost?

Can mod, hope it doesn't cost up to getting one tailored in such a way.

I think they don't actually do it in the store itself. I assume they send it to someone for simple alterations like length.
I asked the SA at Pavilion and he told me I could bring my garment to any Zara outlet. So, yeah.

These are the black leather buttons I'm looking for. Two large ones on the front, and four small ones on each cuff. I'd love it if they could convert my fake cuffs to working cuffs. hmm.gif

I bought a couple of shirts and tees from online websites.
The sizings turned out to be very loose.
Any shops at Sunway area which can alter the cuttings of shirts and tees at the sleeves and chest/should area ?
What are the costs?
Thanks.

I ordered mine from Asos... Find it a hassle to return and it's pricey too....

you can alter almost anything actually, so long as you have money.

btw, theres a shop around Giant Section 19 (or was it Section 20) in Shah Alam, you can alter shirt/tshirt for a maximum fee of rm15 (rm5 for shortening the length, another rm5 for slimming down the shirt and another rm5 for raising the sleeves and slimming the sleeve) and they do it perfectly.

cant remember the shops name though.

actually you can just go to any tailor and just say that you want to alter ____ but it would be safe to give out specifics on what exactly that you want it to be done and please try it out when its done. If its not what you asked for, ask them to redo it or something. Usually it'll be foc.

btw, isnt there already a thread for this?

from my altering experience, it usually depends on how much work that needs to be done. im not really sure about how much itll cost to alter a straight cut into a slim cut but id say itll roughly cost you around rm25-rm35.. but it also depends on which tailor u go to, if you go to certain tailors itll be very costly, but if youre smart and find the right place you can get it done for rm5 (check the tailoring thread, someone posted about a Mak Cik who slims down jeans for a mere rm5)

P.S: Never altered my jeans from straight cut into slim at a tailor before to be honest, i just do it by myself (whenever i have the time lol)

ahhh nvm... went to the shop at sunway pyramid. excellent service as usual.
total damages: rm 105 for altering 2 tees & 2 shirts. adjust length of sleeves, altering a slim fit cut for the shoulder and body.
overall, worth it, i would say.

pricey tho,

I did mine for only RM36 including waist width, length and ankle width at Subang Jaya.

I can't tell exactly where is the location. Firstly, lots of people go there and it takes weeks to finish mine.

I don't want to recommend too many people to that location to sabotage my period of time.

Secondly, that shop doesn't have a name as that place is kinda old.

i want to alter a size L dress shirt to a size M. should be okay if i bring my size M shirt to the tailor and let them copy the measurements right? or better let them take my measurements (is one way more expensive than the other?)

also, if it's just a small shophouse tailor, will it matter?

You guys should try to go for immigrant tailors. There's a tailor near my house whose from Bangladesh. I often send my clothes for him to altar, whether it is jeans, pants or shirt. It often cost me <RM10, and I'm quite satisfied with the outcome as well.

Hello, smile.gif

It's really hard to find a shirt with a good fit.
It's either to baggy on the waist and nice on the shoulders or vise versa.

I decided to go for those that goes with the shoulders but are a little baggy at the waist.

I understand that these shirts can be altered to make the tucking in a lil more pleasing to the eyes.

Question is,
How many people here have done it?

For those that have, any ideas on good tailors to get them altered??
And how much would they charge per alteration.

I stay in the Klang Valley so tailors around these areas should be good.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

How thick is the leather bro... if those biking leather jacket then try pertama, those are very thick and need proper equipment. If just normal leather... maybe try Summit? Basically just cut the wrist end shorter, fold it up and sew?

you pay premium for expensive clothing, better pay a little more for extra quality and workmanship

later a bad tailor/ cheap tailor might make your rm 1000 item look like a rm100

I've just called Jess. Didn't manage to let her work on my Zara jacket which I need to shorten my sleeves. But she just referred me to Mr. Wong (0169726968).

I'll send him my jacket tomorrow. Damage: RM50 (quoted from phone).

Pray that it looks good.

Za Altera at Sunway Pyramid providing clothes alteration service but their charges are super HIGH.. not worth it to go there..

I juz want to shorten my Maxi Dress, they quote me RM45.. Some more need wait one week to ready.. If same day ready need double so is RM90.. the cost expensive than my dress?!! How can afford?

Then I went to one laundry shop located at Puchong, they also got alteration service, charged me RM14 only & 2 days ready.. It's faster & cheaper.. workmanship also not bad..
