hi, how's the facilities for E & E? i just sat for my SPM (2012) and am choosing higher ed institutions. how does UTP fair against nottingham or monash?
I would say facilities of EE in UTP is fine. Most of the basic EE stuff are provided here. However once you enter 3rd or 4th year, you will be majoring in specific major either communication, control instrument, microprocessor, embedded, and power. During this 3rd and 4th year you will realise that the equipment are not sufficient or up to date. How do I know? I am EE student here,

From what I hear, the best facilities in UTP is Chemical. Others engineering facilities is sufficient.
Nottingham vs Monash vs UTP. This is like UK ed vs Aus ed vs Malaysia ed, LOL. Ill just state briefly what I feel about these 3 Universities.
From what I know, Nottingham provide 3 years Bachelor for Engineering but its not BEM accredited because of the duration of studies. If you want to become professional engineering (BEM), you have to extend another 1 year of study there and get Master in Eng. So you can obtain master at young age.
Monash education most likely the same as UTP, 4 years of Bachelor Degree. Few times prof, and lecturers from Monash came to UTP giving adjunct lecture here.
While UTP, we have the best industrial connections especially OnG companies like Hallirbuton, Shell, Schlumberger, and etc. This probably because of PETRONAS connections with the other OnG company in Malaysia. Intel also always come to UTP looking fresh grades.
For me, if you want to work as professional Engineer after you grade, you should go to UTP. But if you want to further your studies to take PHD and becoming Dr, go for Nottingham or Monash, its faster and easier for you to further studies overseas.
