*
there's alot.. some of them are not directly under utp so basically they are underground due to small number of members and financial stuff. But as of now, nothing are even near to japanese. there's one student though giving an idea of an anime club laugh.gif but still surveying. yes of course.. provided that u dont exceed the credit limit. here, try to plan your study using this guide here

Sry if my ques lead u to think that way...==. Didnt mean that. Was it hard to enter UTP?? I only got CGPA 2.70 for my stpm ....not sure if i can apply. sad.gif
*
it's okay smile.gif it's not that hard actually but it ain't easy either. the point is u just had to nail the interview coz during my freshman days results arent the only thing matters. a few did manage to enter although they didnt met certain requirements

Standards are constantly being raised at this university. Not easy being a student here, I'll tell you that much.
*
the huge number of intakes and students failing after that, unable to cope, was quite worrying but some people deserves a second chance. some of them perform well even when they don't met the entry requirements. but then laugh.gif utp trolling with style

Hello again to all,

Currently, my sister is waiting for her UTP admission result. Meanwhile, she attended The Star Scholarship and managed to get admission at UCSI (For PE as well).

So now we are in the confusion state - UCSI need to respond by tomolo and UTP result will be out only end of the month. Looking at financial wise, UCSI will be free and UTP still alot of uncertainties.

What will you guys do? rclxub.gif

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As of today, she got Matriculation and also UCSI (with full sholarship), hmmmmm getting more confuse.
*
first of all congrats rclxms.gif PE is really a hot course nowadays since the recent events of petroleum site discoveries. so in terms of employment later whether UTP or UCSI i still think that she'll get her job really quick after graduation. I don't see any reason why UTP is a better choice now since the scholarship is really a big plus on the UCSI side.
I really didnt have any idea on matriculation rclxub.gif a lot of my friends got 4 flat cgpa upon finishing but still they ended up in local university, really the opposite of what they're expecting of flying overseas. but some of them manage to grab scholarship of course.
IMHO UCSI seems to be the better choice but i believe your sister can make a better choice for herself, im just merely giving my perspective here
Thanks a_rev93!
I appreciate your advise.
What worrying me is, the minimum requirement for PE in UCSI is extremely lenient. I know many says if you know your purpose you shall just focus and complete what you suppose to do.
But as a brother, I am worried about the environment of these 2 places. I never been to UTP but the requirement to enter is very strict which I expect the have the best of the best.
Meanwhile in UTP anyone can do PE, as long you have 5 credits. sad.gif
Sorry if I sound conservative but just that worried when comes to my little sister education and his lief path  blush.gif
*
no problem bro laugh.gif
what?? 5 creds? rclxub.gif wow my uni changed so much during my sem break. tbh i really dont know what happened to my beloved uni these days (so much bad news) but some of the lecturers are awesome to be specific on the scale of their experience. 30/20 years sounds common. ex-petronas, shell or whatever international company you name it. i can't comment on the enviroment. those stuffs are subjective, different from person to person nod.gif
Hi, I'll going for foundation in engineering and need to register on 16/5.. Who is with me?? smile.gif
So I've some questions to ask.. ok.. they're silly questions though..
1. Do we need to bring broom and mop to the hostel?
2. Are there any stuffs that are not allowed to bring? ex: kettle, iron..
3. Any advice for us, the freshies who are going to attend the orientation week?
Hope you guys can answer my questions~ thanks!  smile.gif
*
1. yep, if you want to clean your room regularly. i personally bring vacuum cleaner because i can't tolerate dust (ashtma sigh)
2. kettle and iron sure but no power hogging item such as washing machine, refrigerator, those electrical cooking pot and the list goes on. (some of us do bring em in but wen the guards do their spot-check, they'll confiscate it)
3. nothing really, just enjoy the fun thumbup.gif
I am planning to bring my car to campus, do I need any special permission or apply for student sticker?
*
last time, i gave them the following copy of doc
driving license
matrix card
letter of approval from car owner (if the car is in the name of the parents)
then fill up the form, pay rm4 (i think) at finance counter besides the library, submit it then you'll get the sticker within a week
they have syllabus for that, a few category iinm. sports, arts, enterpreneurship stuffs which is recorded on your result slip and you have to follow guidelines based on the students handbook. you'll have to choose when you enroll for new semester based on availability
I have a few questions and I really hope it's not a burden to any of you or kinda like bothering any of you  biggrin.gif
1.) How do the muslims perform prayer there? as in "berjemaah" ? or in the room?
2.) Is there any discrimination on not wearing a hijab for muslim girls? and is there any girls wearing a jubah instead ?
3.) I heard that it's hot in UTP. Any tips on cooling ourselves up?  laugh.gif
4.) If we were to mail something , do we go through the administration or just go to the post office? Where is the nearest post office?
5.) What ATM Bank is available there? I know they do have but I haven't found anyone specifying it. lol. sweat.gif
I'm really sorry for the bombardment of questionssss  notworthy.gif
and ehem~ any seniors brought their own car? wanna pinjam later..hahahaha....xD
*
1. there's a prayer room in almost all of the villages. village1 and v6 is quite near to the an nur mosque. but yeah you can pray in your room if u opt to.
2. nope but when they go to islamic studies classes they will idk whether it is out of respect to lecturers or just to avoid being embarassed by them laugh.gif i can't understand your second question though, you mean no hijab but wearing jubah? rclxub.gif
3. yea it's hot here maybe umbrellas will help, you can buy fans/aircon if u think the heat in your room is untolerable. there's a shop in taman maju (a town nearby) which sells standing aircon for about rm1k+. you can get fans at tesco. just a tip, no need the hassle to bring one from your home.
4. the post office is located below ground level, it's just beneath the library. so you can just post it directly to the pos malaysia guys.
5. cimb and maybank. cash deposit, cheque deposit machine and atm for cimb, maybank only got atm
no prob, spam all the way thumbup.gif i want to increase my post count >=D
rm80/day sounds nice to you he3
Thank you  ~
Thank you too!  ~
----------------------------------------------
To both of my dearest senior ~
LMAO ! Tbh , I'm a muslim but mixed blood  brows.gif I would wear jubah's instead of baju kurung and I'm not wearing a hijab. I wonder if that's a problem especially during Islamic Studies class?
I mean I could wear hijab during Islamic Studies Class but if the lecturer were to see me wearing non outside of the class , would it be a problem?
Would it be find if wear pants & a plain t-shirt to class? You know like daily life? As you guys mention it is HOT...OMG...........T________________T
Regarding the post office. I always send mails to oversea.I wonder if they do provide international mailing like those in the towns? Do you think they do?
Lastly (for now  laugh.gif  ) , is our classes air-conditioned or with fan? How about the dormitory room area? ^^
I am so sorry for asking a girls question to you seniors ~ Really hope to see you in a LYN Meeting sooner or later  biggrin.gif
*
nope, no problem at all outside the class. i just want to give you the glimpse of how i see things work here smile.gif when it comes to islamic studies classes, i saw none of them without hijab.
yep its okay, the only things i saw the guards strictly against are slippers/flip-flop. the same to tshirt but it seems they can tolerate with it if the student are a female. as told by my seniors the place was once a desset lookalike lol luckily they planted quite a lot of trees here
they do provide international mailing. one or two of my international friends ship some of malaysian stuff to their family. i also get my airmail from the poslaju office. duplex thumbup.gif
dormitory = fan but all the classes got a/c even the tutorial ones
