Gone are the good old days where UTP is not crowded and require 9as to enter the engineering programme.

I want to ask, is it possible for me to apply for foundation in Engineering with my SPM trial result for Jan intake? And lets say if I finished my foundation program, am I able to get Pet scholarship for Civil Engineering degree course?

Yes, provided you have filled up the necessary forms~ then you will be called for EduCamp~ if you're through, an offer letter will be sent to you~ if you agreed, you come and register yourself in UTP~ if you don't get civil engineering, you can still appeal for change of course during the foundation time~

For scholarships, try and apply petronas scholarship (7A+ if not mistaken).. other than that not sure.. but you might get a list of scholarships after next year somewhere

Not sure when educamp will be held.. maybe april/may?

so If I apply March intake foundation via online means that I only can get study into UTP on April or May because it needs the approval from the interview to get into UTP

and also......March Intake use Actual Spm result or trial result as the entry result in interview??

Actually, I got plenty of questions, I called UTP they said I can enroll with my aircraft diploma. He also said that they will be offering 3 years of studying and 2 years of practical. Does UTP provide the practical? Does salary given from the practical? If yes, how much? sorry i'm asking this all. I'm currently 22 and will be 23 next year. Is it too late to join petroleum degree already? Please anyone reply ASAP smile.gif

In any place you go, there is dress code to follow. But if u wanna break the rule, go on. Pandai-pandailah cover line and don't be mad if you got saman.

1) UTP through its student internship unit will help student to get internship placement. Don't worry coz UTP student can get internship placement easily due to the university's reputation.
2) Usually get paid but this is not made compulsory by UTP.
3) It is never too late to learn.

Thanks for the reply. But how about the jobs after graduation? Sorry to ask this, the reason I'm quitting aircraft maintenance is because of its very difficult to get a job in aircraft currently. Another question... What's the total cost of the degree program?

You quit before you complete your studies and change course? Aircraft maintenance is quite niche and you have higher chance to get the job. I wonder why.

As for UTP, the reputation is quite high among the industry player but as you aware, the economy is quite slow now and there are a lot of company downsizing. So pray hard that the oil price stabilises once you graduated.

So for me, getting a job is about how you position yourself in the industry and finding the opportunity. Personality and attitude is the key.

Anyway, all the best.
