QUOTE(captain_asia @ Mar 23 2015, 01:00 PM) So for Malaysians dont have to take Malay language? What about Moral or Malaysian studies or something like that? I dint understand what u mean.... Is there christian fellowship in utp? I heard the majority students in utp are actually malay..so for non-muslims do we have to wear long pants and have our feet covered all the time? Malay language or subject in malay language? From your question you ask "Do we have to take Malay language?" No, only international student take it *malay language-internationotal student learn to talk about malay language. For moral study and malaysian studies you need to take it, compulsory. QUOTE(captain_asia @ Mar 25 2015, 12:15 PM) do interviewers prioritize bumiputras when choosing who is actually qualified for a place at utp? I am trying to apply for undergraduate programme. I know there will be an inverview but is there any assessment test? If there is, what king of questions do they actually ask? Is it academic question or general knowledge question? mind sharing some tips on passing the interview and test? Thanks for your 1st question i dont know what to what to answer and mybe you can contact UTP for further detailsemail: utp@petronas.com.my telephone: +605 368 8000 If you are taking any any sholarship let say PETRONAS, of course there will be interview + assessment test. for the assessment test i have no idea coz im not pet scholar. For undergraduate intake, i think they have limit from certain course. The priority is for Foundation student. For self sponsor you only need to pass the interview. During my time (may 2011) they only want to know how you manage to speak in front of the interviewer. Make sure you talk a lot. Second session is you given a group and you will have a small debate among yourself. Let say topic is GST is good for Malaysian. So you need to have either you agree or not and give reasons. If you dont know certain english term its ok to speak in malay. |

QUOTE(faiz_noordin @ Aug 17 2016, 02:17 PM) Hi , i got few questions. Hope otai otai here can help. Few years back , my uncles always told me to go to UTP because you'll guaranteed with a job upon graduating. Is this statement still applied in 2016 and the next few years ? Another thing , I heard that petronas no longer funding the utp so utp start taking many more students then the lecture halls and labs became overcrowded. Is it true ? Because i don't think i can concentrate if i need to sit on the stairs. 1) There no guarantee with a job upon graduating but it not because of UTP but oil crisis. Most of my batch Petroleum Eng. and Petroleum Geoscience are struggling to get a job. Yes u can get a job but less chance in O&G industries2) Yes PETRONAS no longer 100% funding UTP so management increase student intake. During Jan11 intake and below max student only around 200 per batch, but now I heard reach until 1000-1500. 3) Sit on stairs?? For foundation yes but once u entered degree life, mybe management will solve this issues. Mybe split into more class... hope i answer ur question -From Final year Final Sem Student |
