hi i just bought 2 ssd intel x25-m gen2 80gb frm a forummer and run hdtune and crystalmark....
below is d results i get...
isit normal???coz i dunno anything abt ssd...but comparing the pictures in google my ssd speed is slower...
can any1 help me wit dis?

what motherboard are u using? different chipsets react differently to ssd (amd vs intel). and in between intel also got alot of different chipsets, most notably the fastest is intel's ich10.

you wont be able to get exactly the same speeds as other people due to a lot of factors. cpu, mobo, the southbridge, third party sata controller, etc.

and moreover some review sites will use high end cpu like 990x and oc'ed it like hell to do the benchmark, so their values will obviously be higher.

normal.
ur CPU usage during the tests is 7%+
try to free up background tasks and u will see the scores get higher

TS,did you enable AHCI?Seems to me it's a bit slower than usual.

i try enabling it at bios but cant boot since im usin OS in normal hdd...
so i default it bck...


Added on August 7, 2011, 2:01 amssd empty also lk dat r?
if install OS then smmr worst rite?

If you are using Windows 7, this is how you enable AHCI after installing the operating system :

Anyway, I believe if you enable AHCI mode instead in the bios, it applies for all of the hard disk drives, unless your motherboard gives you the option to enable different modes for different hard disks.

so how was the ssd speed after u enable AHCI?
