But i can't seems to find where to change the multiplier in BIOS. There doesn't seems to have any option for me to change. My mobo is ABIT NF7-S2.

wow strange leh for an abit board to not have multiplier options.
thought it was a good board for o/c ers
sure there isn't an activate advanced menu or something. haha i dunno never used and abit b4
*
Yea i found it strange too since ABIT mobo is an overclocking board but it doesn't have that multiplier options sad.gif

So guys, do u think it's worth investing in a new mobo just to get that multiplier option? Does it makes a large difference in OC by changing the multiplier? I'm thinking of either getting DFI nForce2 Ultra Infinity or ABIT AN7 mobo. But of course it's a matter of worth investing?

At the moment i can do (200x12.5) at 1.75vcore. I think can go further but i dare not push further now coz i'm using caplang PSU.

I'm sure to invest in a TruePower PSU already. Now i'm just wondering about the mobo only. Should or shouldn't i go for it for the sake of the multiplier option?

Guys, i tried pusing the FSB to 210MHz, but it won't get into Windows. Then i tried lower it down a little to 205MHz, it boot into Windows but Prime fails. It won't go any above 200MHz no matter how much i up the Vcore and Vdimm. I'm using (1:1) for CPU/RAM ratio and running Dual Channel.

So, is my RAM limitting it or my processor had reached the limit of 200FSB?

Btw, i've tried running benchmark for Single Channel and Dual Channel, i found that no difference at all. Both give similar score. And my DDR400 RAM score for PCMark04 even lower alot than my friend's 1x 512MB KVR DDR333. I was thinking that my RAM are the cause that limit my processor's FSB to go further? Need opinions and advice !!! Thanks

Have you tried raising the Vdd? 1.8v might not be enuf for NF7-S.
*
My default Vcore is 1.65v while Vdimm is 2.65v. I've increase Vcore to 1.85v and Vdimm at 2.9v. With that, still i can't get stable at 205MHz. Due to RAM problem? Any Barton 2800+ user here that can go above 200MHz?

what is ur temp ?
what is ur stock multi,fsb & speed?
what Ram chip on ur Kingston? D43? D43 can run at 250Mhz @3-3-3-11 Timing..

tone.

Stock Multiplier = 12.5
Stock FSB = 166MHz
Stock Speed = 2.083GHz

When running at 2500MHz (200x12.5), idle = 45c, full load = 53c; Prime stable

This is what i copy excatly from the RAM:

KVR400X64C3A/256
D3208D2 3T-5A
0448PT04

I'm currently using default timing, so what timing should i use?

Aiya man i don't know what is wrong now with this new mobo of mine.
this configuration seems to run the test fine but cant play longer than 15 min in whatever game then it hangs.

setup
barton 2500+
speed = 2420 mhz
fsb = 220
locked multi = 11
vcore = 1.7

2x256 Geil value blue with heat speader (from kevdaman)
ram = 1:1 (220)
volt = 2.85
timing = 2.5 3 3 7/11 (7 or 11 also hang)

It runs sp2004 for over 8 hours mo man tai.
Anything missing? i'm at a loss here.

increase the voltage for both to some insane amount and still cannot.
Temps are fine and well below 50 even.
damn....any help?
if i can get this working for playing games then i move on to 2.5 gig  drool.gif

What mobo are u using? And what fan u're using? I using default Vcore, full load temp also reached 50c already sad.gif

1 hour of SP2004 should be sufficient for this Speedranking Thread thumbup.gif

There is no time limit in SP2004. Means u can run it for weeks or months non-stop. Evildonkey challenge me for a 24hrs prime, and now i'm running it for him. What if next day someone challenge me for a 48hrs prime, and i'll have to do it again for him just to proof to him? This will keep on going...

In my opinion, as long as u're satisfied with your own results and the stability of it, that's enough.

2.5 is common....i only wanted to see ure 2.7 last 4  8hours prime stable....tat'll be something to drool at if it's accomplishable

btw y no 1 recomend SNM??? it's way better program to stress ure overclock coz it can detect error in a matter of minutes while prime/sp2004 needed 22 minutes to do so....somemore ure temp will be way higher compared with stressing with prime

I did not say 2.5Ghz of mine is not common tongue.gif I haven't tried pushing further because i'm using a brandless PSU, and i haven't really work it out yet. Don't worry, if i manage to push any further, i'll for sure post it here smile.gif

Wanna ask, DFI Infinity and NF7-S Rev 2.0, both this board are good overclocking board, but which is better? I wanna get it to push my Barton 2800+ further above 200FSB smile.gif

Just bought my new mobo ABIT NF7-S Rev2.0 and Acbel iPower 400watt PSU thumbup.gif

Push my Barton 2800+ (Unlocked) to 3200+ (200x11) using stock Vcore (1.65v)

Idle: 45c
Full Load: 51c
Cooled by ThermalTake Extreme Volcano 12

Of course, this is just the beginning, i'll be pushing it more later. I just need to know what combination of FSB and Multiplier to use.

Btw, is it recommended to undervolt? I thought of undervolt it to 1.6v to make it cooler. Will it harm the CPU?
