Aiya man i don't know what is wrong now with this new mobo of mine.
this configuration seems to run the test fine but cant play longer than 15 min in whatever game then it hangs.

setup
barton 2500+
speed = 2420 mhz
fsb = 220
locked multi = 11
vcore = 1.7

2x256 Geil value blue with heat speader (from kevdaman)
ram = 1:1 (220)
volt = 2.85
timing = 2.5 3 3 7/11 (7 or 11 also hang)

It runs sp2004 for over 8 hours mo man tai.
Anything missing? i'm at a loss here.

increase the voltage for both to some insane amount and still cannot.
Temps are fine and well below 50 even.
damn....any help?
if i can get this working for playing games then i move on to 2.5 gig  drool.gif

tat just proved ure current overclock is not stable yet and prime stable doesn't mean it's 3d stable....to define a total stable overclock, u need to pass all 3 prime95, memtest86+ and 3dmark2001...btw i found a program call SNM which can detects error for both cpu and mem faster than prime/sp2004 and memtest...it also stresses ure cpu more and the temp shoots higher and faster compared to prime...u can give it a try if u need something to stress the cpu and mem faster b4 u go for a 24hours stressing running prime.

try running sp2004 small fft test with priority 10 for 24hours to test ure cpu stability
run memtest86+ with test #5 for 8 hours for ure ram stability and running 2dmark2001 with real time runtime (go to ure windows task manager, click on the processes tab and sekect 3dmark2001.exe and right click, select priority and select real time)
if u can pass all the criterias above then u'll have a 99% stable overclock

anyway it's something i read over in ocforums and applies to only those that go for a totally stable overclock...you can actually consider ure setup stable if u can play games for hours long but fail prime as soon as it starts....everyone has their own defination of a stable overclock depending on their needs

p/s: u might wanna check ure gfx if it's overclocked since it's a problem occured during gaming

try running 11x220 in memtest86+ with test #5 for 2-3 hours to see if ure mem is limiting you or not...if it's not then try upping ure vcore to 1.85 or 1.9 if u dare to try...if tat still doesn't work then i believe ure proc had reached its limit...u could try a slight bump on the vdd and vagp and see if it helps

its time to tukar board laioz... biggrin.gif  thumbup.gif
wah..idle temp very bad huh."try fitting ur heatsink again.." it wont go that high one lar even when u oc...to further oc..make sure temp under 50'c ..

12.5 x 200mhz=2500Mhz thumbup.gif great result! at wat voltage?

ehh...my proc boot up at 2900Mhz ok ! haha..using 2volts le..air cooling !
*
u relli haf the guts to do it...2volts on air...i bet the 2.9 gig is anything but stable as the highest ppl gone wif a barton is 2.7g stable runing phase change cooling...and even tat oso their hdd corrupt after a certain period running on those settings

the overclock isn't too stable running on daily use resulting to corruption of data to the hdd....it's pretty normal for hardwares to act weird when u ran them way out of their specs

tat's y i said it's misleading for newbies and i relli think it thould be revised from 1 hour to at least 2 hours

and it's getting on my nerve looking at all the results when mine can't even break the 2.4g barrier tongue.gif

2.5 is common....i only wanted to see ure 2.7 last 4 8hours prime stable....tat'll be something to drool at if it's accomplishable

btw y no 1 recomend SNM??? it's way better program to stress ure overclock coz it can detect error in a matter of minutes while prime/sp2004 needed 22 minutes to do so....somemore ure temp will be way higher compared with stressing with prime

Attached Image

cpu=2406 (229x10.5)
voltage=1.975!!!
temp (full load) = 55c
temp (idle) = 51c
cooling=watercooled

after replacing the stock nb with a cooper 9500pro cooler and adding a sb heatsink and using a new PSU

my proc is a real pain in the ass to oc...but considering the core is cracked, i'm pretty impressed i made it to 2.4g but it's nowhere near stable yet....just barely meeting the ranking requirement.
