Hello guys, need a little help over here.

I have a friend who own an iPad, but he happens to forget his password right after he set it up(LOL). So now he can no longer access his locked iPad.

Random try won't work since it will fully lock the iPad after a few failed attempts.

I am aware that restoring it with iTunes will works, but the thing is this iPad has never ever sync with the iTunes at the PC, so there is no backup of it at all.

I'm wondering whether if I am able to do a full backup on a locked iPad and then restore it? Will it works? Or the restore will just lock the iPad again?

Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Erm I'm a little puzzled. Because when you turn on the iPad for the first time it will show iTunes icon plugin which means got to plug the iPad to the iTunes on the computer first before you can turning it on completely right?
Do correct me if I'm mistaken on this part. Cheers.

So there is no way your friend have not used iTunes before?

I am not entirely sure about this one. Maybe the guy at the shop who he bought iPad from did that for him.

This is what I'm talking about. So if your friend got it as a new set and unopened then the guy at the shop could not have sync the iTunes for him. Which means your friend should have sync it himself on the startup. That's why I'm puzzled about why your friend has not done the iTunes thing before as it requires iTunes to start the iPad.

So basically if this is the case, your friend can do what the kind forumers here have suggested.

Good luck!

My friend is actually a computer illiterate, so most probably he request help from the shop owner during the first syncing, that explained why he never sync before.

Yea in the end I gotta restore the iPad, nothing is recoverable, I guess this is the price to pay for not doing backup.

Thanks for all the help guys.
