I never really played any diablo series before. Is it MMO or playable as a single player as in like skyrim?

it's a fast-paced (top viewed) RPG game.. if you'd played Titan Quest it would be similar.. yet way more fun and more epic.

So far it has proven to be the best for its class.. no other competitor came close.

this is a hint of what it will look like:

in the recent patch they removed advanced tool tips KINDA.

by default, very simplified tooltips are now shown. This makes it easier for your dinosaur parents and gamer newbies to easily pick up the game and understand how these skills work.

However don't panic. Advanced tool tips are still there. Just press ctrl to toggle advance tooltips. I'm not sure if you press ctrl once, or you have to hold down (i think the later). I think this is perfectly fine because we may just want to take a quick look to see what it does exactly including the math values for theory crafting without having to alt tab all the time.

well because i'm getting the collector's edition, i ordered the US version.

No way am i gonna spend double on the SEA CE doh.gif

Some retailers are scaring people that D3 will be the same region lock like SC2 e.g. SEA will have access to both US and SEA.

During an old interview by a blizzard staff (forgot his role), he indicated that D3 will be region free meaning you can get any version, and join any region. But that once you join that region, the char you made there, is locked to that specific region.

But blizzard later when asked later if a SEA player if bought a US copy, can play on US server, they didn't want to confirm or deny. They said to wait for the launch date before they tell us anything on this.

Blizzard's Region Locking Policy

Blizzard has implemented region locking in some of their games, most recently in Starcraft II.[5] In that game, a player must register their game in one region, and thereafter can only play it in that region. It's possible for a player to play in two different regions, for instance in the US and Europe, but he must register two copies of the game, one in each region.
Region locking is not planned in Diablo III, and players can connect to any region, from anywhere in the world, though characters are saved to the region they are created on, and can not be transferred.

and yet on their d3 page, they mention region locking would be like sc2. so there is conflicting info by blizzard ... in the interview initially they say it's one thing, but on the website it says another, and later bashiok says this is undecided, and will only be finalized when a release date is given ....

So at this point nobody knows. But my bet is, it will be what the first blizz guy said doh.gif

Blizzard axes companion pets and reforging scrolls in Diablo III
user posted image
QUOTE
Last week, Blizzard revealed some of the major changes and cuts they'd made late in their development of Diablo III. Apparently, they haven't stopped slashing features, as it has been announced that they've axed companion pets and scrolls of reforging.

Regarding the pets who would run around and pick up gold for the player, Blizzard community manager Nethaera wrote in the official forum, "The companion pets felt like they were mandatory to maximize play efficiency and some of the pets were too cutesy for the gritty, dark world of Sanctuary.”

In other words, they were too cute and cuddly.

As for scrolls of reforging, they were "underdeveloped and just not quite good enough for the game in their current state."

“Neither of those are issues we felt like we could solve without a lot of additional work, and we’re trying to close in on a solid release date for the game, not move further away,” Nethaera added.

Diablo III still has no release date save a nebulous 2012 release.

Assisting in loot pickup and sale of unwanted loots would make the game very efficient.
