3-5 years warranty is just a gimmick, product cycle for smartphone is 2 years now

Product cycle can be just in months for the rich and the spoilt brad. drool.gif

Not a gimmick, it's peace of mind. So after 2 years phone spoilt beyond repair, senq give you a new one with equivalent value.

Have you not heard about the term replacement policy. My company insure laptops at replacement policy. If lost insurance will pay the equivalent replacement value. Insurance premium for replacement policy is higher than the policy replacement at market value.

For cars you want to insure it at replacement policy also can but be prepare to pay very very high premium.

I was told by SenQ they will replace with the same value so I guess they insure at replacement policy. Carrefour extended warranty also the same they will replace a new one with the same value if the old one cannot be repaired which I have claimed before.

I'll check the small print when I'm free.

......let say your phone priced at 2k. And you send in repair for two time and spend 1k so you only got balanced 1k left for next repair within this yr. If the next repair is 1.5k, so decision will made by insurance company and senq to repair or just give you back the market value at that time. This is what I have been told.but I might get wrong info too.

I think you got it wrong my friend. If SenQ insure the phone at replacement policy then the insurance company will either pay the repair cost or pay SenQ the replacement cost even if the repair cost is RM500 for 5 years. I can only assume the extras we paid is the premium for the replacement insurance of the phone for 5 years.

1) yes it will be locked and released slowly after u make the payment
Check with your credit card company whether there is any up front charges that you may have to pay for the installment plan. Usually there is and sometimes the retailers will absorb and sometime it is in the small print, ie it will appear in your statement later.

so it's confirmed that after 3 years, your beloved SGS2 (worth only RM100) at that time will be replaced with a cheapo RM100 Samsung phone.  Great ripping off customers SenQ!

Go call SenQ to confirmed. One to one replacement on the 2nd and 3rd year. For your SGS2 I believe you still get a replacement of the same value during the 3rd year. After the 3 year, you don't even get RM1 from SenQ - period cover over rclxm9.gif

dont take senq word so serious better wait after 1 year warranty expired from manufacture like samsung then see how senq provide their warranty for those who purchased the 2nd and 3rd year warranty...

If they don't honour the one to one replacement policy (which I forsee they will honour), I'll take them to Consumer Tribunal.

Carrefour honoured their one to one replacement policy.

That's right from their brochure their insurer is Multi-Purpose Insurans Berhad. Usually it is the insurance company that is interest to tap this niche business and SenQ just happy to be their business partner.

For Carrefour the replacement warranty I took from them is/was insured with Jerneh Insurance.
