Same as me. I have the same issue as well as I do not have an ATM card. I called up customer service & was told the reason was because of that. It makes sense as IBFT runs on MEPS (ATM) network.
*
it doesn't make sense. i don't have any atm or debit card with hong leong and uob and i am able to ibft from those banks.

back to 2015 oct - dec ... the instant transfer is free... everyone know about this

but today when i check my maybank statement... the giro is not free... i mean normal transfer they charge for 0.11 cent per transaction ..

anyone can clarify about this?
*
only IBFT was free. it was an initiative by MEPS. IBG/Giro is a different thing and was never free.

you may want to add mybsn with 50k limit to your list.

not bad, didn't know that govt bank can be better than ocbc and pbb.

future IBG transfer e.g. initiate today for Monday transfer, when bank will do the IBG? morning session or afternoon?
*
from my past experience, bank processed ibg scheduled for the day during the 5pm run, funds arrived at destination bank by 11pm the same day.

but if you transfer now, i.e. on a non-working day, money will be deducted right away, and funds will be available at destination bank account by 11am on the following working day.

Were you able to change your limit to 50k in mybsn? I only saw 10k max inside. I could not find the IBFT option for fund transfer either.
*
oops, not yet. got attracted to bsn by their promo fd.

will open an account next week and try it out.

you could also contact customer service and ask about the new transfer limit.

Anyone know for scheduled GIRO transfer, what is the processing time? Lets say I schedule tomorrow transfer, what time it will be processed?
*
depends on the bank. from my past experience, scheduled ibg's were processed at the last batch for the day, ie 5pm, so funds arrived just before midnight.

No lah. Actually RM30k transfer limit is more than sufficient enough. If increase up to RM50k, will be causing more problems.  blink.gif
*
what problems? even if the max limit is 50k, you can still set 30k if you want.

It is may be caused by banking transfer system, bug inside the internet banking and transfer system error for e.g if someone run the maximum transfer amount. This will much loss to someone. The bank will be more 'lazy' to refund the money which is caused by their banking system error as they see 'the money'. You already know, Malaysia is still in 'third class banking system'.
*
many banks are already giving 50k. they need to look at both sides and give options to consumers with adequate risk assessment. and the bank here is ocbc, not some small local bank.

we are third class. if you use cheque, your cheque can be forged. if you use atm, your atm card may be skimmed. if you use bank, banks nowadays run on computer system and there may be bugs in their computers. smile.gif

I wanted to cancel my debit card from UOB but was told by a branch staff that I need to keep the card in order to continue using my Internet banking. The reason given was so that I can reset the password from the ATM if necessary. Is it true?

I know MBB & CIMB need to link the card with Internet banking, else it won't work. Some banks like OCBC do not need ATM / debit card to use the internet banking but online IBFT won't work.

But based on an earlier post from here, a debit card is not necessary for Internet banking for both UOB and HLB. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
*
when i first started using uob online banking i didnt have any card.

do you think that's a valid reason? do you need to reset password frequently?

you can also walk into any branch and ask for reset.

So you managed to open a savings account without a debit card? Is it the eAccount? When was the last time you did an online IBFT? So far, I never had to reset my password before. I agree that the branch should be able to reset the password too. In that case, I think there is no reason to not let me cancel my card. Thanks for the reply.

yes, eaccount. ibft all the time smile.gif
