from my experience, most games run at 720p and some are even lower (alan wake) to allow better frame rate and effects (lighting, shadows, filters). This applies to PS3 also, only several games run at native 1020p.

if your asking is xbox 360 able to play games at 1020p, its a yes (to the latest firmware update)

if you worry, 720p would make 40" TV look bad. honestly, its hard to find any significant differences. Unless your using a 50" tv and ur viewing it at 2 ft away.

so u are still worried about resolution, get a PC instead.

now, im very sure you heard that from a sony fan boy.... anyway, pre-NXE dashboard update the max resolution you can choose is only at 1080i, after the update its able to do 1080p.

i can say most games are made at 720p or below this is same for xbox/ps3, most games will upscale it to the resolution you choose like example 1080p

i'm just a little bit confuse... I've got LED monitor 24 inchs full HD 1080P... If the xbox360 games are made 720p,even i setting up dashboard resolution to 1080p,which one that games can display? 1080p or 720p ?

if your 24" LED monitor is capable of 1080p, then the game will display in 1080p just that your monitor is too small to see the difference in 720p/1080p. games would be smoother on 720p

games that are designed on 720p are automatically upscaled to 1080p to suit your monitor. The picture quality retain at 720p. Some games might have some technical hiccups at 1020p, (poor filters, jagged edges.. etc)

try downgrading to 720p on your dashboard, see does it solve your issue.

by the way, wahts your dashboard version?

if your problem is "that" serious then i have no idea what can help you, so far i have no problem like this. im only using a 37" LCD it should be at 60hz?

are you using HDMI/VGA input for yr monitor?

there is a few things you can try...

- try with another monitor/TV
- try changing the HDMI cable if you are using 1

ooh, i dont have any of those.

i sense its got to do with ur monitor frequency does not match with ur console. try setting it at 60hz

wait, this only happens if your using an older firmware. I remember reading somewhere Gear2 had a fix for this issue in their latest patch

NOW, connect your console to XBL and update every game update.

All I can say is that i normally play on a 46" sony lcd using a cheapo hdmi cable @1080p that came with one of my components, and i've never had any problems with image judder, tearing or stuttering. All upscaling is supposed to do is to ensure that the digital signal being output is at the native resolution of the monitor you're trying to view the image with.

Like some of the posters here have suggested, you should go online with your xbox and just accept any upgrades to your firmware which will be automatic.

edit: otherwise it might be your monitor that does not support progressive scan. (which is a silly suggestion since all lcd monitors should have progressive scan)
