hey guys, i know this question may have been asked before,

but i want to know your opinions ,

Hows the vapor pro protection? Does it help at all in reducing impact if dropped? Dont want a cracked apple . haha.

How's the quality of the OEM ones going around in the garage sales?

And , do you guys recommend applying a screen protector ? Will the screen get scratched easily in my pocket?

Cool! Thanks for the reply, yeah, i dont plan on dropping my phone, but every once in a blue moon, some sort of thing is bound to happen, like how my cat kicked my HTC down, luckily no problem.. touchwood*

Are you guys using screen protectors ? I heard theres no need to, as iphone has a scratch-resistant screen .

I just bought a Griffin Elan Frame for my iphone 4S from (i)store The Publika, Solaris Dutamas. By any chance these authorized reseller selling any fake/replica product?

Im saying that because I bought the case for only RM49 at the store, while other reseller like machines, epi center etc are selling it for RM1xx. Even in GS the cheapest I found is RM80. I did asked the sales person wheather it is a genuine product, and he confirmed me about that.

So what do you guys think?
*
Some might be stock clearance , so u may have gotten the clearance price smile.gif

49 sounds like bulk price when ordered, as from the net , its $12.99

http://store.griffintechnology.com/elan-frame-iphone4

No need to worry, i think china companies would pick a more expensive company to copy and manufacture as OEM ( fake ) , such as Element Case lol.

Though i saw quite a number of 'InCase' china copies unsure.gif

I got myself a fav/ve screen protector for my phone , Front & back included for RM 55 inclusive installation .

I think its a lil overpriced at first, but it was the only shop selling clear screen protectors , the rest were out of stock sad.gif

was looking for capdase, but they were out of stock as well ..

so , i though i'd give this a go ,

Seems pretty good actually, it doesnt stick those grim and dirt after hours of gaming with sweaty fingers laugh.gif

i tried googling for it, no official web , hmm.gif

but i'd recommend it to anyone here smile.gif , so far so good. maybe its oleophobic, not quite sure, but it sure beats my old screen protector that costs 15 bucks icon_rolleyes.gif

What does bumper gives benefit except for bulking the hp?
*
Bumper was used to fix reception issues with the iphone 4 previously smile.gif

And also to show off the iPhone glass front/back drool.gif

Of course it wont give u maximum protection, but at least its eye-candy wub.gif

I've been using a "replica" vapor pro spectra for about a week,

So far i've seen no defects besides the inaccurate damper placing inside the bumper ( some parts can be seen , eg : the volume cut out , no biggie though , i just removed it and replaced it again smile.gif

The words on the bumper seem to be laser engraved, but i'm not too sure.

Not sure if the replica uses the same aluminium as the real thing, but it's pretty soft metal, aluminium for sure, but very soft, i dropped it on floor purposely with phone intact about 15cm high to test the case out , it dented a little on the edge and a shiny metal can be seen underneath the dent

Another thing is the reception issue, ( my wifi signal range seems to have dropped. I get 3 bars normally, but with the case i get 2 smile.gif , speed remains the same though

But other than that, the looks is superb! i'd recommend it to anyone with a tight budget but crave for a vapor ( like me tongue.gif)

No, my phone was not harmed in the process of testing, from what i observed on youtube, heights above 1m will shatter the screen if dropped,

hey guys, found this after some random reading.

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=19273

Looks good! but i wonder if water will get stuck in the phone?

It looks like it prevents short circuitry.

but then water may end up stuck in the phone.. like the LCD

yup! fake spectra tongue.gif

got it for a nearly a quarter of the real thing.

yup, more like powdered silver. i kinda like the feel, though i've yet to lay my hands on the real mccoy! tongue.gif

no play at all, so far only the durability is the weak point as the paint chips off easily when dropped on a surface .

But it is a small price to pay considering i got it cheap tongue.gif

still looks darn good on the phone!

i DID mention it previously , just that i forgot to mention it with the picture tongue.gif

I did a drop review some pages back , durability factor, i doubt its those aircraft grade aluminium.

Not everyone can afford a quarter price of an iphone for their case tongue.gif

Thing about vapors is , will they do the jobs of protecting the phone from shattered glass?

Looks like the rubber inserts are not that impact-absorbent, but maybe that is just the fake ones? hmm.gif

Those who own the real McCoy, do give your reviews? Tq!

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Jan 25 2012, 10:27 PM)
i don't see the point in justifying fakes. There are ppl who appreciate the real thing, the original, the development, R&D and all the efforts that have been put in to justified the original case. These ppl believe in Intellectual Properties rights, instead of buying a product which was produced, (most of the times lower quality) by ripping off other hard works. It's shallow just to consider buying a fakes just because it's cheap.

I sense a SOPA supporter ! tongue.gif

Anyway, Of course people would like the Real thing if they could afford it. I understand that Element Case probably put tons of effort and time into developing the vapor cases, Started off with the Vapor 4, and with feedbacks from users, they evolved into the Pros and Comps..

Then again, Not many people can afford paying roughly half a thousand for a case,

But we have to Thank people like you who support the company! Else we'd have no more vapors sad.gif

There are also people like me who cannot afford the real deal yet, so we settle for the cheaper alternative but similar looks ( gives us moderate income people a feel of the Rich flex.gif )

No offense though , i'm sure you feel we're cheap and all that rolleyes.gif

Without piracy, the world may end, who knows! sweat.gif
