hmmm... that would be a problem... hmm.gif

what if they married after the baby is born,
than only the father insert his name
in the birth certificate after the certificate was issued?
would it be ok?

The baby take 9 months to deliver and registration for marriage is no where near that long. If the guy want to be responsible, this is not even a problem!

You will be requested to produce your marriage certificate. If there's complication in producing the certificate, it is best to bring along your parents/guardian to the hospital to carry out whatever document authentication/verification needed.

Regards, Joey

As far as I know as well, in this country, you need to be married first.

hi guys, thanks for your reply. but the answer still unclear...

perhaps i should ask this way:
if a couple DO NOT WANT TO MARRY, but they want to have a baby.
Is Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara allow the father to put his name
in their baby's Birth Certificate?

I think shouldnt be a problem, so many mistress oso having children. But then I'm not sure if the fathers column is left empty.

yup.
i remember in the teoh beng hock case, tbh died before the baby was born and before he could marry his sweetheart.
registration of tbh has the father was not possible as in the cases where the parents are not married, the named father needs to be there to register as his child. dont have to be married, but must be present.
