Last week friday in the morning I deposited a maybank cheque from my boss into my maybank account. I urgently need the money and I haven't received it until now (it's monday afternoon). I've read in some thread saying that it will be deposited into my account on the next working day at midnight, does that means it will be today's midnight?. May I specifically know the time of this? Is it something after 10pm?.

You are asking about cheque clearance days.

What time did you banked in on Fri ?

Assume before 3-4pm, it will process on Fri, 2 days float, you can use it on Tue ?

If after 5pm, processing is done on Mon. Wed can use ?

it takes 2 working days.... u deposited the check on Friday, probably it will be cash in on wednesday... u can check on maybank2u your floating cheque how many days already...

2 days right now. and all banks in malaysia will use 2days for clearing chq into SAVINGS ACC. but currently a few banks has started this 2days clearing. the rest will follow phase by phase.

example:
-bank into SAVINGS ACC on 10am/MONDAY
=fund will be available on 9.01PM/Tuesday.

*above example is based on:

1. the chq is deposited before cut off time (4.00PM)
2. the chq has no problem to clear
3. the savings acc is active
4. the second day (T+1) is not a holiday
5. the ATM card is functioning and you dont forget your password.

BTW, this method only available for savings acc only. for other acc still takes a few days to clear. kindly check with your favorite bank for further clarification.

diff bank : 3 working days
