my granny keeps a dog to watch over her dusun and paddy field. Kuntum, even carry her bekas sireh while following my Granny around. And during our visits, we play with Kuntum no problem.

There ARE soaps which are made of clay, that can be used to wash oneself after touching the dog (well, that sounds funky, but you get what I mean) Just use that lah. Whats the problem? The problem is, Malays and dogs dont mix well. Its in the culture. But if you look at those Balkan Muslims, they have no problems with dogs,. infact they love dogs. Its the culture. I feed stray dogs whenever I see them, and I can see people look at me in disgust, especially because I am a Malay muslim.

There is a story, in a Quran, about a very loyal dog, named Qitmir who watched over pious men who went into hiding in a cave from the brutality of the Roman Empire. He watched and guarded them until his last breath. God promised heaven to this courageous dog. And there is a tale, of a prostitute who fed a thirsty dog with water using her shoes. God forgave her sins and she is promised heaven. Also in Islam, if you go hunting, and your hunting dog catches your kill, with his teeth or claws, you can just clean the bit and that kill is halal to eat. These show that dogs, is never a part of the problem in Islam. Those jacket wearing, lying SOBs in the Parliament are the problem, even a bigger one

Tell your friend he did a good thing. Ask him to attack back the administration by

- ask them to quote any rule inside college's manual book at specifically target dogs.

- ask them to quote any quranic verse OR hadis that declared its haram to touch dogs, OR ask them the souce of samak in Quran.

You will be surprised of the things that is 'modified' in Islam to suit the Malays better.

This I agree.

Thats why I want to send my children to an international school.

I find it fascinating interviewing people from international schools, their level of maturity, how they carry themselves. Not to say local schools are bad, but better chances to find good potential candidates from international or private schools rather than a local one.
