Yeah, and there is no more SOD,with is a good thing.
Stand by might be a bit shorter, but we need more test.
*
not entirely true ( at least based on official Euro GB ROM).

SOD will still occur occasionally if u have wifi and sync on but are out of wifi coverage.

try remove the Wifi connection then reconnect. it should prompt you for your password/credentials. That should resolve it.

one more problem,
after finish installing kies, my usb driver failed to install
try the latest version from internet, still same

currently using win7 32 bit
*
have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the kies software? im using win7 home basic, 32 bit successfully with KIES 2.0.

Have uploaded the 32-bit USB Drivers here: http://goo.gl/QJ2CE
Have not tested if it works, so use at your own risk.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
p/s: read somewhere online that the wifi/galaxy ace issue could be caused by router's firmware. did you guys recently updated the firmware for your routers?

still same problem after install driver from the link, failed to install driver after detecting my phone via usb sad.gif
ye, already installed and un-installed it (right now using downloaded Kies_2.0.2.11071_128)

and for ur last questions, why i need to update my router since i just connect it via usb.
sry im new with samsungĀ  blush.gif
sorry for confusing you MjMax15. my last comment on the router thingy was more for the other ppl who has issues with the wifi connection disconnecting with their phones. Nothing to do with your USB issue.

back to your USB issue. do you have another spare USB cable you can try using? I recall i had a similiar issue with a motorola phone before ( used a sony cable and couldn't charge).

else.. i have the Samsung PC Studio software as well. It might contain USB drivers if you're keen to try out i can upload it.

for camera, i agree the stock camera app is not so good. I use camera 360 instead. My avatar is a sample from it with lomo effect.

Yes, but I use it only 2 clear app cache. Those apps that can be put into sd card will be moved to sd card by default automatically, NO NEED app2sd. Isnt all ace like this? Why u guys still say need 2 use app2sd 2 move moveable apps into sd card? My ace will auto move moveable apps into sd WITHOUT using app2sd. Are our aces different rclxub.gif ?
mine is like that too.will auto-move the apps if it's movable to SD Card.

np but my usb cable seems ok since can recharge and detect my phone.
but failed when to install the driver (popup baloon at task manager)
i will try other cable later nod.gif

add: and i forgot, if i reinstall driver from kies, at the end installation theres korea language lol right after error baloon popup

btw, is that camera 360 is software? quite interested smile.gif
*
Found this suggested workaround on the net.Maybe worth a try see if works or not.

1. Go to Samsung Kies software, on top left of the window, click the menu > Driver recovery.
2. Let it reinstall drivers
3. After driver installation finished, go to your phone, Settings> Application > Development, tick USB debugging mode.
4. Under USB debugging mode connect your phone to the PC with USB.
5. It installs correctly!
6. Disconnect from PC
7. Untick USB debugging mode
8. Connect again

Camera 360 is an app. you can get it here: http://goo.gl/gXhv6

Then why others are not lyk that? I dont understand... rclxub.gif
*
Well, not all apps are moveable to SD card. so perhaps all the apps they have installed so far is only for phone storage?
for example:

this list most of my apps

but only these few can actually be saved to SD Card

sorry, i dint get it.
from my kies software just got "File" "Edit" "View" "Tools" & "Help"
currently done "install Driver" from "Tools" menu but failed which at the end got korean language popup right after error installing driver baloon popup at the taskbar

about camera 360, after unzipped it just copy to sd card & install from phone?

tqvm
*
hmm. sorry can't think of anything else to help at the moment. Any sifus wanna offer advise?

for the camera360 apps, you need to copy to SDCard and install from phone. The file format should be APK you do not need to unzip it.

oo..thanks

any idea to unroot it back?
*

if ur rooted on froyo, then you should be able to unroot via superOneClick or UniversalAndroot.

if you're on GB then u actually need to boot to recovery and run a zip file. details here:

Just complete upgrade to S5830DXKPB. But still notice the zoom in no support text auto reflow. Is this text auto reformat feature already taken out from GB?
*
text auto reflow only works if ur using Opera Mobile. Dolphin HD and default browser does not support.

Hi, In GB 2.3.4, I install dolphin HD but still not support text auto reflow when I perform pinch zoom.

Also in google reader the pinch zoom function no more working. Only can use + -. Previously can do pinch zoom.
*
yep. for gb, auto reflow don't work . it will only works if u are using Opera Mobile browser. Have tested it out earlier.

ditto~ I updated to GB and noticed
1. screen took 2 second to light up when in standby mode
2. can't connect to modem even its able to scan it. restarting modem solve the issue (experienced once after updating to gb)
3. don't know if this is significantly important or not, but i do think the vibrating while tying is... weirder after updating =P
4. font appear to be... "crisper"

5. relatively smoother actually after updating to gb
6. dolphin hd is working for me though

This is what I noticed after 5 hours of using it
*
for item 3, you can switch off haptic feedback which will disable the vibrate whilst typing. i disabled mine somehow but can't recall how to do it..

See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720739. All apps can be moved/install to SDcard. I have set my SetInstallLocation to 2 which mean all my apps installation with automatically install to SDcard. For example I have uninstall Gmail and install to SDcard. Widgets can be moved to SDcard but should remain in internal memory.
*
to clarify and not cause confusion, this is NOT the included functionality of APPS2SD. The item discussed in the link requires rooting and creating a FAT32 partition on your SD.

KPB and KPH are Both 2.3.4

KPB is officially for asia-pacific

KPH is for europe.

for firmware upgrade, anything on the SD card is not changed (i.e. your pictures, files etc are not touched at all).

on your phone, if you have done a sync to your google account, all your contacts should be there.

for apps, you should be able to reinstall them from android market.

a better approach may be to go to android market, download an app called 'appsaver' which allows you to backup all your existing apps to your SD card. You can reinstall them after you upgrade firmware.

The ONLY thing that you can potentially lose is your sms/mms. But help is at hand! go to android market again and look for a free app called ' SMS backup restore". it should backup ur sms/mms to SD card also which u can restore after firmware upgrade

p/s: sorry to be so long-winded.. trying to give u as much info as possible
