Guys, I'm currently looking a suitable android phone and always love the HTC's android. the sensation caught my eyes, and heart and i have the urge to get it. But from the reviews and specs...its not that convincing that i'm getting the value for the money i'll be putting on it...of course with the competition from the other brand..*ahemcoughcoughsamsungahemahemcoughcough*...it further makes me think that sensation will not be a good choice...i know..it hurts to say this...but I would like a opinion from the users here about: 1. Battery life - How is it for a frequent FB/apps/gps user? phone sucking battery really fast? should consider buying extra battery? how's battery life when using gps apps like papago? and even google maps? 2. S-LCD - are you guys satisfied with it? how about the view when having a matte screen protector on it?...does it affect the battery life alot? 3. Price/value - are you guys satisfied with what you guys have paid for? or wished that it should be lower? 4. Rooting - now i know rooting will increase performance and changing kernels will give better battery life...but by how much? so far i've read quite a few posts in here saying that they've changed the kernel and battery life does improve...but does it improve till i can have a day outside(using apps, internet, gps) without worrying how long the battery will last? 5. sync - I'll be using alot of outlook...someone in buy/sell is selling his sensation coz he claims that outlook can't sync with android(send/receiving). can someone clarify this? as i've said...I like android on the HTC...so i need ppl to psycho me into getting the love back into HTC |

@djk:
1. Battery life - How is it for a frequent FB/apps/gps user? phone sucking battery really fast? should consider buying extra battery? how's battery life when using gps apps like papago? and even google maps? - i am syncing exchange mail on daily basis. i am running on wifi (3g while on the go) with exchange mail, gmail, browsing and fb, the battery lasts for average 3 hours screen on time. i benchmark the battery life based on screen on time rather than idle / standby. from my experience, the screen size and resolution drains battery pretty fast. i got myself a power bank as a solution for the power hungry beast. 2. S-LCD - are you guys satisfied with it? how about the view when having a matte screen protector on it?...does it affect the battery life alot? - i am really impressed by the resolution of sensation, as i upgrade from htc aria. never compare to samsung galaxy s2 so i wouldnt be able to compare much. it is best for you to have hands on experience and justify for the screen resolution / technology (S-LCD / Super AMOLED) 3. Price/value - are you guys satisfied with what you guys have paid for? or wished that it should be lower? - i got my SiS set at decent price (RM1880 on 25 June). Pretty satisfied with the amount i invested. - rooting and custom rom / kernel unveil the true potential of the phone in terms of performance and power saving. since unofficial s-off is available on 30 July and developers are still in the early stage of cooking the rom / kernel. my personal experiences are smoother interface, improved bettery performance (keep updating rom version and kernel version since 31 July, so cant conclude the optimum battery performance) but it is yet to last me 24 hrs with a single full charge as playing pretty heavy testing out the rom 5. sync - I'll be using alot of outlook...someone in buy/sell is selling his sensation coz he claims that outlook can't sync with android(send/receiving). can someone clarify this? - been syncing (send/receive) exchange mail since 25 June until now, not facing any single issue hope above personal input helps. cheers mate |

QUOTE(jun88 @ Aug 7 2011, 10:36 AM) Hi, May i know which version of ARHD Rom you installed... I am not using ARHD rom, just using his recommended radio which is very good. I am using LeeDroid v1.2 with kernel v1.4I hv installed M-Deejay [ROM/KERNEL][Aug 06]-=Virtuous Sensation v.1.0.3 with OC Kernel UNITY V5: - very fast..faster than Stock Rom. - Restart faster than Stock Rom, - 3D Home screen. - but max overclock to 1600 mhz only. higher than this will hand.. Thanks Added on August 7, 2011, 2:27 pm QUOTE(hussain @ Aug 7 2011, 01:56 PM) I thought the same...so now on stock rom....I realize with these roms is initially they are smooth and good but after a day or two...lagging like hell.....what's different in insert coin rom bro and how long u using it....please review ya Hm, I been using ARHD for almost a week and LeeDroid for 3 days so far, no lagging.Thanks Well, ALMOST no lagging lar. I flashed LeeDroid 3 times to get it right, dunno why. But it is essentially as smooth as ARHD after the newest v1.4 kernel. This post has been edited by vccy118: Aug 7 2011, 02:27 PM |
