Why the radio and ClockWork is same file name?

Always PG58IMG.. then after i upgrade  Recovery - v5.0.0.8,
Do I have flash the radio again?
*
Its just named that way so that in HBOOT it will be recognized as an update and be installed automatically. Thats why after install remember to remove it from your SD card.

To update recovery, download and install ROM Manager and use that app to update your CWM, its less hassle and CWM also stores previous versions of recoveries you've used before so that in case any problems occur you can just use it to reflash an older version of recovery.

EDIT:

I remember someone posted about having trouble with his sim locked phone, well fortunately there is a solution to that, free sim unlock for HTC Sensation!

UNLOCK YOUR PHONE!

I actually bought it off Market, yeah its kinda expensive I know but then again its worth every RM as you'll be playing it nonstop afterwards. Not to mention very high replay value. I played that non stop during the Raya holidays and only stopped for hanging out with friends where beer and shisha are involved hahaha. Kinda hard not to play it even at work,have...to...resist....

downloading leedroid 2.4~ have anyone flashed it? got any problem?
*
It's a solid, stable and awesome looking ROM without you having to add anything after flashing.

OKAY!

Have been putting this off for a while now but I am going to try InsertCoin ROM. The way he does it with incremental patch is a plus point for me considering the fact that number 1, I have crappy internet speed and number 2, I'm not always on wi-fi hence my download limit do concern me sometimes. Yeah, fickle reasons, I know.....okay I admit it I have ORD! cry.gif

Anywho, have a nandroid backup ready and waiting for the ROM + patches to finish downloading brows.gif

hi... you guys always talk about leedroid, insertcoin, etc... are these just for Sensation OR can be used on all droids??

sorry noob question... blush.gif
*
If you're talking about all phones with Android OS then the answer is no. Its phone specific.

QUOTE(akmal89 @ Sep 6 2011, 09:57 PM)
does stable ROM means there will be no version upgrade?
*
stable = no serious issues/bugs or no bugs that will affect everyday normal phone functions etc.

Version upgrades will always come out, in fact, it's a good thing when they have version upgrades, it means something gets improved or something better gets added. However, you may view the respective ROMs changelog to see the change details. If it does not interest you or you think the improvements/additions are not really relevant to you and you are happy with your current ROM version then no need to flash.

happy flashing mate!
*
The first day I got my Sensation = "Where's the effing menu to change the wallpaper??!!"

3 days later = *Googles for tips in increasing battery life for HTC Sensation, sees link to a thread in XDA....clicks on link*

Present = no longer a noob!, not pro either. You get what I mean rclxms.gif

INFO: I have problems with MS Excel, yet I didn't screw up on anything following the guide and instructions. Moral of the story, follow the instructions.

HTC Ruby

Wow and the specs:-

1) 1.5Ghz
2) 1GB ram
3) 16GB internal memory
4) 4.3" display
5) HTC sense 3.5

This confirmed better than SGS2 already.

source: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_ruby_gets_caug...s-news-3093.php
*
Probably same processor as Sensation, without the underclock. Only significant diff is the internal memory, Sense 3.5 will be ported sooner or later once devs get their hands on it.

QUOTE(akmal89 @ Sep 6 2011, 10:30 PM)
after flashing leedroid 2.4 there's an app called CifsManager.. What is it for?
*
I forgot, but as far as I remember for us "normal" users not much use I suppose.

LeeDroid 3.0.0 in progressing

Added on September 8, 2011, 5:25 pmHmmm i am using FULL WIPE EXT4 but my custom splash image still remain wor. I thot it will wip everything in the phone..
*
Don't worry splash image is not replaced by ROM, you can change it the way you changed it in the first place, just flash back the original splash image if you want it back to original.

It won't wipe everything in the phone, only the relevant places to prepare for ROM installation.

Wow you guys so fast downloading already, I just started and its another hour and 30 minutes to go, grrrrrrr

Any of leedroid v.3.0 user experiencing longer HTC splash screen n laggy / slower boot animation? I let the Rom settle after two hours and fix permission, reboot and it seems slightly improve the boot up time.

Overclock seems sticking after few benchmarks and restart. Snappy n smooth, epic leedroid release. Hehe
*
Still downloading, will let you know a.s.a. I install the ROM.

Btw, what are you using to manage OC?, is there an application included in the ROM like Daemon Controller in ARHD?

*
Go to settings, Display, G-Sensor Calibration. Leave your phone flat on a level surface (table) screen up press calibrate and wait for it to finish calibrating, should be fine, after that.

QUOTE(teh_master @ Sep 8 2011, 09:06 PM)
you got to control the cpu clock speed by setcpu or cpu master. i am using cpu master. still monitoring the overclocking cos at times, it will revert back to stock setting.
*
Revert back?, was anyone else in XDA reporting that issue?

Oh, one more thing, smoothness still awesome like previous versions of Lee?, I find that ARHD on certain widgets still feel some lag, especially HTC Calender and Weather Widget, and I still get the occasional Black Screens cry.gif, never had that on Leedroid.

If I really accidently brick my phone, anyway to reflash the firmware just like nokia series?
which casing do you guys use? Im still thinking for case-mate or capdase leather flip unsure.gif
*
you will lose phone contacts, but if you have it backed up to your google account it wont be a problem.Applications will be lost as well but download Titanium Backup and backup all user apps + data and you'll be good to go.

I'm using both Case-Mate Tough and Case-Mate Barely There.

QUOTE(PatEagle @ Sep 9 2011, 01:25 AM)
Hi,

1. I subscribed to Maxis DataPlan on my HTC Sensation... Erm, how to switch off the DataPlan thingy when I don't require it? Does it affects battery life? Seems my battery drains faster with this DataPlan on 24 hours. Then again, not sure as I've been on the phone a lot lately.

2. While on GPS, it "force close" frequently. How to rectify this?

3. This app, Viber, that I downloaded but hardly use, keeps appearing to "force close" - how to switch off?

4. I need an application like Notes or To Do List... what would you recommend?

Look forward to your reply. Thanks.
*
QUOTE(PatEagle @ Sep 9 2011, 01:30 AM)
I saw two extended batteries, namely Momax and Yoobao.
Which would you recommend for my HTC Sensation?
*
1. The thing that drains battery is the always on mobile data option, go to mobile network settings and untick "Enable always-on mobile data". Another thing you can do is adjust the Auto Sync Options for your accounts like FB, Twitter etc. If you don't care about FB or Twitter updates turn everything off and only keep the "Update when I view/Open Widget/APplication" turned on. Anyway, the screen drains alot of battery so if you're on it a lot then its rather normal for a fast drain. Lower your brightness and do not use auto brightness. I am assuming your phone is factory version and is unmodified right?

2. When you turn on GPS or when you are using navigation application like Locations?

3. For Viber, I've never had force closes before though, so i'm not sure whats wrong with yours, but simplest option at the moment is to just uninstall it. If your phone is rooted, you may use Titanium Backup to freeze that application.

4. There's quite a few on the market, personally I'm using Freenote, a lot of options and its free =D

5. Extended batteries as in Powerbank?, both are reliable so no problems there, of course if you want more charges out of it get the one with the higher MA.

LeeDroid come out with new update kernel 3.1.0 now.
How to flash kernel? have to wipe everything again?
*
Just flash the zip file in recovery like usual, no need to wipe =D, just clear your Dalvik Cache and Fix Permission under "Advanced" then reboot.

THANKSAMILLION For your speedy reply Azel  thumbup.gif Wish I could "Like" your post as seen on FB.  biggrin.gif
A newbie here and I sincerely appreciate you for taking time to reply.

1. Where to go untick "Enable always-on mobile data"?
I went to Settings > Accounts & sync > Unchecked Auto-sync -- do I uncheck "Background data" too? What's that for?
Erm, I don't see ""Update when I view/Open Widget/APplication"
Yes, new, factory version not modified at all.

2. I only use GPS (Papago) and don't use the rest like Locations or Navigation.
It will work fine and suddenly it'll 'force close" every few minutes.

3. What is "rooted"? Sorry, all this new to me. Anyway, I've just uninstalled Viber.

4. Thanks for the Freenote recommendation. Just downloaded.

5. Opps, I meant spare battery.

BTW, i noticed that the phone is significantly cooler when Mobile Network unticked. Is the heat (when on) normal? Any side effects? Any precautions I should take?
Otherwise, the HTC Sensation is an AWESOME phone. thumbup.gif
*
1. The option is in:-

Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks

You turned off Sync?, you don't use the sync options is it?, like email and stuff?...well if you don't then might as well turn off background data as well. The option i mentioned doesnt come up for all accounts like facebook or gmail. But if you try and tap on Weather you'll see something like "Update When Opened", thats what im referring to actually.

2. Hmm, I'm not very familiar with that, maybe due to resolution problem, there was a fix here but I'm not sure which post so you better do a search of this thread for "papago".

3. Root is similar to Iphone's Jailbreak, it gives you full access, like Administrator account in Windows. If you want to know more google "rooting android phones".

here is some brief info--->Rooting Pros and Cons

4. Your welcome =D.

5. Spare battery, I think you can get those from HTC, maybe their dealers and distributors? (not too sure about that though)...if you're talking about bigger batteries, unfortunately as of current there is retailer of bigger capacity battery for HTC Sensation in Malaysia, you have to buy online through ebay, Amazon etc. There's the Mugen 1800ma and Anker 1900ma if you're interested.

It's cooler because the hardware for it isn't being used. It's like for old phones the phone gets warm in long phone calls, its not a problem so no need to worry too much about it.

QUOTE(PatEagle @ Sep 9 2011, 03:19 PM)
One more question Azel,
How to close windows or applications properly? Do they automatically close when I hit the back button?
E.g switching between Mail, Messages, People, and Internet... sometimes more tongue.gif
Still learning to navigate this phone properly. Anywhere I can read up on the net?

Cheers!
*
Like our forumer previously mentioned, back button will close the application. However, when you go straight to home from an app, the app will auto close after awhile. Same thing when you turn off your screen.

Well, in terms of getting used to the interface, reading the user manual does help a lot. I completely understand as this was my first android phone for me as well =P

first boot my phone is utterly hot when charging, cleaning battery stats and it's ok.
Home screen a bit choppy at first, but after restart the choppiness has decrease, but a little choppy with the mail, calendar, and friend stream widget. When charging utterly choppy. Anyone have experience the same?
*
Try with faux123 0.1.2 Kernel 1.56Ghz Synch L2

I'm using it and no problems, no choppiness. I did try the new kernel from Lee (3.1.0) but the slow bootup/choppiness still remain.

Faux123 HTC Sensation Kernel

QUOTE(alloyion @ Sep 9 2011, 06:05 PM)
I am running LeeDroid V3.0.0 with LeeDroid Kernel 3.1.0 with CPU Master OC at 1.72ghz.
So far no lagging or wat so ever.
Juz the battery drain faster. Will do batt cab and might set few profiles in the OC
*
Thats weird, how come mine choppy and sometimes lag, I full wiped and everything, like I always do before flashing and let it settle before and after restoring my user apps.

However, for those who are worried of missing out on the things added by Leedroid in his Kernel, don't be, I've checked out his source and it's more or less the same with faux123 0.1.2 with some minor differences (which I cannot tell you the pros and cons of btw since its all technical stuff)

What if using Sensation kernel 0.1.2 (1.78 GHz)?
What is the difference between on demand and smartass?
*
Smartass = Different kind of CPU scaling governor (changes how the processor goes up a step/speed to accomodate increased demand)

Actually I did try out the 1.78 version, but I noticed battery runs a bit faster due to overclock so went back to the 1.56 version.

For your information our processor MSM8660 default clock is 1.5GHz, therefore stock cpu speeds are underclocked.

reflash leeDROID 3.0.0 rom or flash over?
how about Sensation Kernel 0.1.2 (1.56 GHz Sync L2)? I just about to flay just now, lol
*
For kernels just flash over and clear dalvik cache

OFF TOPIC:

Just helped a friend flash CM7 on her Wildfire, man that ROM is really awesome, immediately made that dull phone nice.

I really do hope our model will have some CM love sometime in the future.
