Hey guys, my friend bought a S plus and he facing a battery life problem now. He said that sometimes when he turned off the phone, it still drains the battery. His S plus couldn't last for a day long. I've checked out XDA forum, and flashed 2.3.4 for him, the problem still existing. I put the phone idle for 2 hours after fully charged, the battery left 77% only with usage of 50% cell standy and 50% phone idle. Anyone encounters the same problem here?

Any method to change kernel or baseband? Previously I said that my phone suffers with battery draining problem. I tried to change battery with my friend's sgs+ which battery works fine but the battery draining problem still occurs, it won't last than 24 hours even I put it idle. The differences between my phone and my friend's are the kernel and baseband. I couldn't find a link to change it, I mean easy way, not a pro here Thanks!

QUOTE(taq_gt @ Oct 14 2011, 01:39 PM) u already flash to kp4 and draining issue still got?after flash did u format ur phone?im using this firmware with no problem for now with tw4.5.but tw4.5 using to much memory.hu3.after u format just monitor it for 1 day without install any app or widgets,if still draining might be ur fon got prob Yup, before that it was original rom. After flash it suppose to be a fresh new phone right? what kind of format did you refer to? The kernel is 2.6.35.7-perf root@DELL148#1, anybody having the same one? because my other friend which has a working fine sgs+ has a different kernel. I read about people says that kernel was a major factor of battery life. It's that truth? This is how the battery drains after I flashed the kp4 (without any single app or widget) I put it idle for an hour - 3-4% drops I put it idle when I off to bed - 23% drops. (roughly 4-5 hours) Before that, the original rom was like that too. It's actually my friend's phone. Just trying my best to help.

QUOTE(taq_gt @ Oct 14 2011, 02:12 PM) after u flash all ur data and app on sdcard still there,u need to reset to the factory default in setting,is ur idle with data package on?try use juice defender if u on data package all the time.or try batt calibrator and delete batt stat,ur fon root right?so should be no prob using that app Oh, I did a clean wipe before flashed. I didn't slot any sdcard on it. Everything is fresh new, no apps, no widget, only the original apps come with the rom. Nope, no data turned on. The battery usage was phone idle 50% and cell standby 50%. My friend did use juice defender with the original rom, still no luck with that. I'm sure it's not settings problem because I tried the same settings with my nexus one. The only thing I haven't try is the kernel The phone bought with online auction and the f***ing stupid idiot moron seller is running away and in a wanted list right now. No warranty can be claimed.

QUOTE(greenmiks @ Oct 26 2011, 01:53 PM) Thanks for the guide... hope you find something can fix it. I bought it from somewhere which don't have warranty. I've tried everything I can. Reset the phone, monitored the battery, flashed the latest firmware and custom rom, I even swap battery with my friend which has a working fine sgs+. The result still the same. I tried with airplane mode as well, it still drains that fast!
