True la, i wait for iPhone 5, Samsung S 3 come out liao. So, i confirm, getting S 2 tomorrow from M1.

Anyway this are my question:

1. what are root? is it jailbreakin?
2. do androids have something like Cydia?
3. how do i buy paid apps, where do i register?
5. anything 'installous' like in androids?
*
1. Android does not need jailbreaking to customise. Even non rooted android phone can be more flexible than a jailbroken iphone i think.

2. we don'tneed Cydia, just download widgets and alternate launchers from the market and you are ready to rock n roll

The HUDDLE main duisadvantage : VERY VERY HOT , just into an hour usage - you can feel it " burning " your palms. I figure is at lesast 50-55 degree Centigrade. Battery life is 5 hours maximum

Alternative - yes you can - those portable MIFI where you put in a 3G simcard,  but what for ??? The download speeds is same or even worse than your phone. These only for those who use tablets which doesn't have 3G sim enabled cards and connect to it as a wifi hotspot. And these MIFI is bloody expensive RM 400 to RM700 Huawei brand

example : http://www.lelong.com.my/kx/mifi.htm

reason is i have 2 sim. 1x celcom, 1x u mobile

celcom - good voice and sms rate (corporate rate)
u mobile - good data plan

anyway, thx uncle benny. will hv a look at it

btw, another option for me is to use the dual sim adapter thing. i have asked around but nobody seems to reply to it :-(

I decided to stay on with latest MIUI 1.8.5 which i think.is the best rom for me. For those like heavy multimedia you may find it lack of codec support, else MIUI is just amazing.

I have not try CM7 as I have yet to decide buying ROM manager premium.

Uncle Benny, you once said that Windows7 not really safe to use for flashing rom due to the usb driver problem or something? If yes then might use my desktop for the rom flashing...

And i tried to download the usb driver from the link provided in the XDA forum but when i got to the Samsung page, nothing to click on for the download and also nothing popup for auto download... icon_question.gif
I did use the Kies via USB b4 so do i still need to download the usb driver or it's alrdy installed?

Refer page 1 post #3 Q21 : for the USB driver link

KIES is very buggy - it is unreliable . If it works, it is good. Sometimes it is just stubborn, won't work.

You ask for advise but you do not follow. Lastnite before I buzz off I quote:

" Really strange. If you really want it , than I suggest you flash first stock XXKG6 ( from intratech link or samfirmware) , follow by speedmod kernel than only Litening 5"

So did you follow ? How come you are now on KF1 and why do two types of rooting kernel - CF root and Ninpo ?? I advise you to do such as you are in an unique situation; so I was thinking you flash stock and Litening kernel should help

Teng, i believe you do not need to buy ROM manager premium to enjoy CM7. It is one of the recommended methods, but there is another method through CWM where you just boot to recovery and flash the zip file.

www.magicsim.com

basically combine 2 sim in 1 adapter which has similar size as a normal sim card

they use software to switch from 1 sim to another

YES - in principle you can flash any firmware from any region. Give us your source and I can verify for you again

It is OK but remember flashing this will wipe your phone clean ; so do backup your important files/data. You can use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps/associated data

slekerz's one if not mistaken cannot support s2

only magicsim and simore claim can support

i don't dare to try it by myself cuz not familiar with it. first off, have to cut the sim and then not sure if 100% working or not
