Any one mind to shed some light pls? or maybe point me to a site where i can find clearer answer.

sometime i have problem where my wifi connected but need to refresh...should i flash back to xxkg2 modem?..now using litening 4.2 xxkg3..

to flash modem, i believe we select phone in Odin right?..want to double confirm

Procedure for Using Odin to root and flash new ROM.

- Already ROOT my S2 using Odin, with CF-root..KF1...tar. No problem at all for the rooting procedure, lucky me.
Below are which i feel should be the procedure for backup existing ROM and Flashing new ROM: (CORRECT??)
(Backup the existing ROM)
1. Goto - Setting/Application/Development/USB debugging(checked).
2. press "volume up"+"home"+"power" to go into CWM Recovery mode. Use the volume keys to navigate, and the home key to select.
3. Backup the entire existing ROM,
4. "wipe clean cache partition",
5. and in ADvanced mode - "clear Dalvik cache".

(Flash new ROM)
1.Continue with procedure like ROOT, but this time, select the upgraded ROM file (such as  ........tar.md5)

My above procedure correct kah??

Just wanna confirm the procedure of backup the existing rom b4 flash new ones, the backup procedure betul kah??

So my backup procedure is correct, that will be a relief hahhaha.

In case my phone mati, i can restore the entire existing rom back and it instantly back to its original state.

So after flash to new Litening rom, no need to do anything on the Kernel oledi right?
The new Litening rom also installed new Kernel right?

anyone here find litening 4.2 battery drain quite bad? I think its even worse than stock.

How bad is bad? I'm using it.for me its okay

I have root my s2 earlier.
I have just flashed to Lite'ning4.2.

Question:
1. if now i hard reset my s2, will it go back to its stock rom?
2. After flashed to Lite'ning 4.2, is my s2 still rooted?

What rom are you on and the baseband and kernel ?
Did you reset your modem to test gain ?
Did you try testing it at other WiFi outlets ?

I never think that changing rom will affect its WiFi capability. I have tried and tested so many types of roms and varying it with numerous kernels, yet to ever face a situation wifi has problems .

If i were you and my iphone still in working condition then i wait till september for iphone5.
Only then you'll be satisfied to take your pick and select which phone best suited for you.

Dont get me wrong. I'm not applefan. I currently using SGSII and before that SGS.

Still it's better to have a little bit patience when making a choice. Unless you can afford buying both SGSII and iphone5 :-P

just got my sgs2 yesterday. the performance is fantastic but i noticed i have the yellow tint issue. any of you know whether its a software or hardware prob coz thinking whether to send it to the service centre to have the screen replaced.

need some advice from those who went thru the same yellow tint problem

Haha, iPhone 5 will definitely be another buzz no matter how many people hate apple when it launch. See is now richer than US goverment. Still I love my SGS2, so many thing haven't left for me to explore. Agreed, it is the best there is now.

i feel sgs2 too powerful dy......i wonder can they still make better phone...hahaha

network-location-cell-update : awake time - 10h.
My battery now lasts about 18 hours before going flat. What is network-location-cell-update anyway? I've turned off everything and it still eats up all my juice. UGH.

how do you normally wake up your phone? use the power button? use the home button?

reason i'm asking is coz the home button seems flimsy (imho). if i plan to use the phone for 5yrs, dunno if that button can last that long.

i used to wake up my sgs2 using the home button but lately, started getting into the habit of pressing the power button instead.

i want to get maxis plan... no money to get the phone itself

I plug in my jig everytime to enter the download mode though. so the flash counter shouldn't work. 

Is there such thing for samsung engineer to check whether we flash it or not?

what i mean was the battery usage shows "Awake" quite frequently.not the sleep/wake up bug(which is not bothering me until now)

i face the problem on vr rom 2.3
kg3 modem and kernel also kg3
but cant detect connect wifi
keep on say obtain ip
and another thing is i open data everytime
drain battery fast > <
got any way set the fb sync by 30 minute?

think to flash other rom
but worry broke T T
i go find on setting > sync and account
there cant set 15 min sync 1 time
