Hi everybody, I am running GTA IV Complete Edition on Acer Aspire 4830TG. With i5 2.3Ghz, 4GB Ram, Nvidia GT 540M. First day installation the resolution is 1366x768, then second day suddenly the resolution become 800x600, and I can't change it. And I update to the new patch 1.0.7.0 and new Nvidia driver, the problem still persist.
Anybody have anyway to resolve this problem? TQ

I come around this fix where you need to uninstall IE9, tried that. The resolution remains the same.

Im using retail disc. When first installation, i can play it quite well, resolution is 1000 something x 788. Then suddenly the next day everything become the lowest setting and i can't change it. I am stuck at 800x600.

odd. i m using retail GFWL copy. its working fine.
by right, the graphic option is available in the game menu, in case u dont know. Only if u update to the latest version. the default version, doesnt have any option.
did u update anything that might cause it to be 800x600?

erm, the only thing i updated is the Windows Live, kept asking to update. So no choice. After that the problem happens.

I see you are using a laptop so i think your graphics card's memory are too low for resolution greater than 800x600. GTA4 calculates your resources for all the graphics settings you choose for the game. It wont let you choose graphics settings that exceeds your memory. you can by pass this restriction which you can find it on the main GTA4 thread. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=935271&hl=GTA

Maybe need to add command line for norestrictions..like Abyssio said.. This will make the graphic setting adjustment unrestricted... Tip taken from: http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/topic/20...y-restrictions/Or update the driver.. This post has been edited by Azfar90: Jul 29 2011, 09:31 PM
