Usually people use clear acrylic plate...
Lettering multiple material ranged from plastic to metal (depending on budget).... |

This looks very nice, especially if there's light from behind. Have been asking on the forum as well but don't know any specific supplier / manufacturer

I was at STADEC this weekend. Saw them have a shop there. I decided to change mine to the simple stainless steel numbers. I did look at the glass and acrylic ones but in the end the stainless steel numbers still best to me!

Stainless Steel lettering got two types, either Solid ($$$$) or Hollow ($$)....Anyhow it really works well in Glass or Acrylic base plate.... Just make sure get the right Adhesive.... |

QUOTE(sl2007 @ Jul 31 2011, 11:15 PM) Stainless Steel lettering got two types, either Solid ($$$$) or Hollow ($$).... The ones I ordered do not have a base plate. They are more 3D type with the numbers about 6 inches in height and thickness about 5mm (approx). They are hollow and for my 2-digit house number it is RM240. I just want something nice but not overboard. The overboard stuff are inside the house Anyhow it really works well in Glass or Acrylic base plate.... Just make sure get the right Adhesive.... |

I am of the opinion that the house no. plays a role in your house's outlook. Don't have to spend too much on them. Some simple but elegant ones will do the trick. This is the first thing that any visitor will look at when visiting your house. The house no. is what's to the house; just like what your name is to you.
Have seen some houses where their house no. could hardly be seen. |
