 [WTA] CAN I USE MAYBANK DEBIT CARD (CHERRY), TO SHOPPING IN SINGAPORE?

Hello Fellows,

Can I use maybank debit card (cherry) to shopping in Singapore eventhough my saving account is in Ringgit Malaysia currency?

That should works for all merchants who accept Visa Debit.
You should check to ensure your purchase limit is set properly as I think it defaults to MYR500 or something.
Also, since you're using oversea, it's worth to confirm with Maybank Card department.

Yes you can, but if I'm not mistaken you need special activation in order to use it overseas (its for safeguard for unauthorised use). Need to activate at ATM, under the menu of 'activate plus' or something (there would be options whether to activate for short period ~ 2 weeks or so) or activate permanently for overseas use.

ATM PLUS if you want to draw your money from SG ATM machine. its RM12 each draw. FYI, the exchange rates much cheaper than change at money changer.

You only need to call MAYBANK to tell them you want to use your card in SG.

eerrmm bro,
the RHB 'pink color' debit card can use as same onot ?
got VISA / meps printed in-front / back oso.
back oso got 3 digit pin-code.

RHB I'm not sure... need to check with them but basically if your bank allowed for online and overseas purchase using the card, the thing you only need to do is inform the bank where your destination and duration. To withdraw money I believe you need the ATM PLUS and need to activate at the ATM machine.

singapore got maybank but not many branch. got one in yishun.

other atm also can but kene charge la

tell maybank first u want to use it in sg. or else your card will be rejected

i think u need some activations if u wana use d debit card in SG, hav to call call maybank n ask.............. better use credit card to shop in SG rather than debit... hehe!

Arghh, how to call Maybank. Their stupid automated system does not acknowledge that debit cards exist.
