Water is leaking badly at my unit from upper unit in my condo. I've engaged a plumber and he quoted us 750 for "chemical injection'. Does anyone have any experience with this and is it reasonable in term of price charged? sad.gif

Doubt if the chemical injection will help in leakage. This is more for cracks repairs and will only be temporary. After sometime, the leakage will appear again.
For leakage best is to repair from above.

chemical injection can last for 1-2 year maybe...

redo all the water proof is best solution...and did remember tat sometimes the water is not leaking from floor only...it may come from wall(next your shower area too)....so ask plumbing guy to check it.

From what I heard, PU injection can be used to stop leakage as a temporary measure only. The best is to repair the leakage from the top. This is what I was told.

Can you please clarify why you advice TS to use PU injection?

If there is structural crackline, then u need to grout the crackline.. Cos waterproofing cannot covered crackline..

Majority of the waterproofing used are latex cement form.. Therefore are crackline or hole must be grouted before installing..

If there is cracks in the bathroom slab, need to first establish what's the cause. If it is just shrinkage cracks, then can use injection as one of the method. Cannot just use the injection for all cracks without first finding the root cause of it.

Water proofing is the permanent solution. Repair from the active side. (where the water is coming from) Waste of money to repair from the passive side (underneath the slab)

Never said that water proofing will solve the slab crack issue.
Just that to solve the water leakage, water proofing is the permanent solution.

This can be done together with injection which is more suited for shrinkage cracks.
Injection cannot solve water leakage permanently. They are for temporary solution.
Without proper water proofing, the leakage will re-occur.

The topic is water leakage and not slab crack tongue.gif

hahaha

In fact, I have seen at least one project where it was either the consultant/ contractor/ specialist contractor who proposed to the developer to use injections to repair slab leakage. After spending money on injection, the slab is still leaking.

I was woundering as existing most of toilet alreayd have Wall tiles installed, how they could determine whether the leaking is from Wall or from concreate (slab), what type of solution outside offer if Wall? If COncreate?

This one i can give concrete advise. Don't do injection, it won't last. Waste ur money only. Coz my unit did it, it's still leaking.
