thank you, both suggestions came as a surprise to me! i nvr tot of uob, those in my mind are cimb/public bank/hong leong/citibank/standard chartered (see them quite often in the shopping mall). just a further question, being a professional- is there any privilege in getting card? (heard there was cimb professional card or some sort like that previously)
i am reading your blog on credit card, gosh that was alot of information!, need sometime to browse thru it before i can revert back haha, thanks lot

maybe ocbc really target cust for 36k range.

if earned twice, trice, then go to other card type or other bank lah.

so they wont get clean (no outstanding) cust. more profit laugh.gif

Just check your CCRIS.... sometimes something like did not pick up their call leads to rejection.

Being a professional has nothing to do with credit card. Where you spend you money should determine what credit card to get. CIMB card standard features are nothing much but they have good for promotions, that is if you patronize the merchants that offer discount with the card.

QUOTE(triny @ Oct 25 2011, 12:30 AM)
jeez, apart from $$ what else would be the criteria? profession? or because you hold too many cc at a time
*
nothing to do with having many credit cards, I have many CC but OCBC still issued me thier card when it was launched. It's about the individual's record.

what an utterly untrue statement doh.gif Please, this is not kopitiam, this is Sub-Finance Section.

True. Or they may even call your company to check.

Is a credit history report that you can obtain from Bank Negara Malaysia. Goto Main Finance Section and there's a piined thread on it.

No such thing one la. biggrin.gif
If someone has the tendency to owe bank's money, no matter 36k, 72k or 108k per annum, they will still owe. biggrin.gif

actually u just get rm88 upon credit card approval (gold). the remaining rm50 is given upon completion of 3 retail transactions within 45 days from credit card approval date.

pls do note that the card have annual fee, which is rm175/year.

also, this additional rm50 cashback only for online application.

so, not worth? sweat.gif

6. Others: Wondering cause, some places overseas, look at the direct access card and says, dont recognise bank wor... eventhough got Mastercard logo on it. But most of the time not much of an issue lah... If local banks got good deal i wont mind also

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: When travelling > 4k. Locally maybe >1k

if the place u eat support amex, u should apply maybankard2 amex, get 5x points, about 2.5% cashback (later when u redeem shopping voucher).

if not, then better ocbc, can get 1% (compare to maybankard 2 master/visa which only give 1 point)

but since u already have uob one card, i'm assuming ur petrol is with that card.

so for normal spending, get alliance debit plat mastercard. at least no gst brows.gif
