HIM and this.ia.a.ball:
Click here to read my article Best Credit Card for Petrol.

In a nut shell, if pump at BHP then UOB 1 Card the best. At all other station you still earn 5% cash back for petrol. Click here to read my article on UOB One Card.
If you pump at many different Petrol stations, the OCBC Titanium MasterCard where you can also earn 5% cash back for dining, utility bills and groceries.
If you pump at Esso or Shell on weekends, Maybankard 2 Cards American Express where you can earn 5% cash back on weekends too.

Click here to read my article Entry Level Credit Cards - Which Is Best For You.

Since you claim you going to spend RM5K per month and with your income range, you will need 2 cards because maximum credit limit per card for your case should be 2X your monthly income.

haha, you are right because of your requirements and income bracket, UOB One Card is the one suits your needs.
Citibank Clear Card is good for movies, coffee bean, zouk and more of a lifestyle card but it is not a cash back card and therefore you have eliminated it yourself when you said you want only cash back card.
Choice Card? Why you would even want to consider it? Go for Clear Card at least you can get free movie tickets.

hi..my application for citibank clear card got rejected. ='(

1. Annual Income: RM100k above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate Only

4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank Cashback Platinum and CIMB classic gold

5. Looking at CC from: ?

Hi,

I already have 1 citibank cashback, works well for me. I'm thinking to replace my cimb with something else. I find it not very useful.

Is there any Credit Card got rebate on the government tax? I just need 1 as spare in case something wrong with my primary card.

Is there any other credit card with better rebates? I mainly spent my money @ shell, giant/jusco. Occasionally shopping..

Click here to my Casb Back Cards page in my blog. Once there, go click on link to UOB One Card and if you don't have time to read, go see the 2 comparison tables. Suggest you check out UOB One Card, Maybankard 2 Cards and OCBC Titanium MAsterCard.

For GST waiver, OCBC does waive it if you spend RM10K/ year. Or with the Maybankard 2 Cards, you only need to spend RM2,000 to get 10,000 Treats Points to offset GST, and including the cash back you may get on weekends.

actually citibank might be better still , forgot to mention i visit cinema very frequently.. last time they have 1 for 1 free.. now they charge rm10 per ticket, still save some money there for a couple.. for a month , might save more since ocbc rebate capped at rm50 per month

quick question.. the ocbc rebate on dining, is it all F&B outlets?

It is based on gross but annual income is not the only criteria. They also look into Nature of work, credit history and etc (=I don't know),

Aiyah , forget to mention Gross is before any deductions. Bro, don't worry, apply in 6 months time. In the meantime, go apply another card that is most convenient (the bank that you have savings account) to build up your credit history. After 1 year, if you pay promptly and have no outstanding, no BT, no late payment, it will be easier for you to get other cards.

Thanks Bro for reading my articles and good to know you found them useful.

As for TNB, get Maybankard 2 Cards and then apply AutoPay with the MBB 2 AMEX card. You will than earn 5X Treats Points. With RM2K bill, you will get 10,000 TP to offset GST for the first month and the balance 11 months you will get RM2K x 11 x 5TP = 110,0000 TP drool.gif And if you use on weekends, can get max RM50 cash back too thumbup.gif

Click here to AMEX site to read mor about Auto Pay.

For Telcos and Astro, you can just do auto debit with them directly and not necessary got to fill the AutoPay form with AMEX.

rm2000 TNB, get MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX and signup for autopay.

confirm 10k points per month, which u can redeem rm50 voucher (parkson/mydin/sogo) or on-the-spot @ maybank center (rm50 caltex/petronas, rn10x5 carrefour, etc).

for TM, just use ur current OCBC Titanium (since TNB no longer pay with it).
