For your case, since you do spend above RM1K, get both the Maybankard 2 Cards and OCBC Titanium MasterCard and get to earn up to RM100 per month  smile.gif But non of these cards grant you free access to LCCT PPL. Go to Airport Lounge Thread to read more on cards that allows you LCCT PPL or my blog.

And also click here to read more about Platinum cards. For LCCT, you can consider AMEX Kris Flyer, Citibank PremierMiles and Citibank Platinum. Once again go to my blog and read more about it.

What do you think about my plan to get rid of HSBC Gold? Have never joined any contests, especially the "SMS to join" ones. Ditch/Keep? Plus the Takaful Card Protection eats up any cashback I get.

What if I want to limit to 1K spending monthly? Still get both the cards?

Thanks once again! Will read up on the platinum cards!

1. Annual Income: 36960 (gross)

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must

3. Card required for: Petrol mostly. Accepted at most stores overseas.

4. Existing credit cards if any: none

If purely for Petrol read this thread and click here also to read my article The Best Credit Cards for Petrol. I think I posted both links at 1st page. All the cards are accepted worldwide.

Bro, if the HSBC card really do not benefit you, what is the point of you keeping it?

If for 1K spending, it still depends on where you spend your money. If for Petrol, groceries, TNB, Telco, Astro and Dining, then OCBC Titanium MasterCard earns you 5% cash back everyday versus Maybankard 2 Cards on Saturdays and Sundays only. Go read OCBC Titanium MasterCard Thread and Places to use AMEX Thread to get idea where you can benefit from the cards.

If you are earning RM30K or close to it, try apply for Maybankard 2 Cards as it does earn you 5% cash back on weekends on top of 5X Treats Points.

However, if your income is less than RM30K, besides UOB I can't really think of another card that can earn you 5% for petrol everyday. Please go to 1st post and click on link to my article titled Entry Level Cards and see if any card can benefit you. Also go to Petrol Thread on cards that do earn you more than 1% cash back. And if you pump at Esso, maybe Public Bank Esso Debit card can benefit you more.

Since you spend less than RM1K, get OCBC Titanium MasterCard which earns you 5% for Petrol, Groceries, Utility Bills and Dining everyday. And for other transactions such as for your Insurance, you still earn 1% cash back.

Please read the last 2 pages and you will see examples, especially Post#1085 and 1086.

Also click here to my Cash Back Page at my blog to see a table comparing different credit cards and cash back you can earn. A

UOB One Card as it earns you 5% cash back at Petronas everyday of the year. And the UOB One Card does earn you 2% cash back for Groceries. Also click on the link above in my reply to LM Tan to my Cash Back Credit Cards Page at my blog to read more about cash back cards and see comparison table. the Maybankard 2 AMEX will not be suitable for you as most Petronas do not accept it and if it does, you only earn 5% on weekends.

If you want reward points and cash back, then the card to get is Maybankard 2 Cards where the AMEX earns you 5X Treats Points everyday and additional 5% cash back on Saturdays and Sundays. But noted you have Petronas Card and the AMEX may not be accepted at Petronas. However, it would be the easy for you to get since you already have a Maybankard. Go to One Utama or KLCC and you be issued the card within 2 hours.

Click here to read about 1 day approval for Maybankard 2 Cards.

However, if it is not convenient for you to get groceries and pump petrol at other stations on Saturdays and Sundays at places that accept AMEX, consider the OCBC Titanium MasterCard wher you earn 5% cash back everyday for Dining, Petrol at all stations, groceries and utility bills.

Click here to read my review on the Maybankard 2 Cards comapring to OCBC Titanium MasterCard. When you are at my blog, also click on link to read more about OCBC Titanium MasterCards.

Also please check out Places that accept AMEX Thread and OCBC TMC Thread where you can see places you can benefit with these cards.

From the cards you are looking at, consider Maybankard 2 Cards where the AMEX earns you 5% cash back every Saturday and Sundays on top of 5X TP.

However, if the merchants you patronize do not accept AMEX, e.g. Petronas and Online transaction, you still can use the Maybankard 2 Card Visa or MC which earns you 1X TP which I believe is better than your current PBB card with your current spending.

Another card you should consider is OCBC Titanium MasterCard which earns you 5% cash back everyday (no points) for Groceries, Petrol, Telco, Utility and Dining. Other 1% cash back, much better than PBB. Only thing is the cash rebate is capped at RM60/month.

Once gain, please click here to my Cash Back Cards Page at my blog to see comparison of cards.

Since income was left blank, it shall be assumed that he/she can qualify for all credit cards.

The card to get is Maybankard 2 Card where you get 5X Treat Points everyday and RM50 cash back. Can use points to redeem for cash vouchers too.

Also, with the Maybankard AMEX or Visa, many merchants offer installment free plans and outlets like Harvey, Courts, Carrefour and SenQ do have up to 36 months installment plans.

Click here to read my review on Maybankard 2 Cards.

For using points to pay for items, please click here to read my article Apple iPad2 for RM999 with Maybankard 2 AMEX and On The Spot Redemption.

For 0% Installment Plan with Maybankard 2 AMEX Card where you can earn 5X Treats Points for installment plan, click here to read my article American Express Promotion 2012.
