Anyone's ipad wifi version has difficulty with connecting to wifi? I'm using my android phone as hotspot and ipad wifi can connect to it. However, the problem is that it keeps disconnecting and sometimes take about 5min to reconnect back. I wonder does it happen only when use android as hotspot or does getting a router solves the prob?

Im using the same method as well. I don't know which helps but I would share what I was told and experience.
1. Android wifi has a power management setting which turn it off after 10minutes of inactivity. This is based on my HTC LEGEND. I set it to never.
2. Wifi channel. I tried changing this value manually to avoid interfering with surrounding wifi network. Helps a bit.
3. This one I never tried but some claimed that Android phone in sleep mode, disable 3G and revert to EDGE. Not sure how true.
For me, I only use 1 & 2, unless I'm in area where 3G signal is weak and phone keep changing to EDGE.

QUOTE(Charizard @ Jul 25 2011, 12:10 AM) Try use wep instead of wpa. Got same problems as yours last time, after changed to wep, no more dc so far.

Apart from changing the wireless security, if it doesn't help then it could very well be the wireless channel conflicting with other WiFi networks around.
