Yes, it happen that there are such materials, I am personally going for Fibre board for KC as my brother using as well. It is water proof, anti termite, heat resistance, my contractor show me on the spot, burn the fiber board with his lighter and nothing happen on the board, he showed my bro the board rendam inside water 1 week, nothing happen as well, but of course it will be more costly than typical KC using wood one:)
