Hey guys, I've been using Maxis/Hotlink BIS Bonus 20 all this while, and it's a shock and heart breaking news to hear that the plan is no longer available by the end of July. So, many Maxis BB subscribers have been planning to change to other telcos while some are sticking with Maxis with opting the new BIS plan ( which are not worth the price ). So, let's share and compare the new Maxis BIS plans with other telcos and see which plan would benefit both customers and the telco itself in terms of price and the services provided.
I'll start off first with the Hotlink BIS Plans.
Although it costs a minimum of RM 1/day, the services provided for each plan is not reasonable. With BIS Lite, it only provides push mail and BBM plus other IM services. While for BIS Social, it only gives you BBM, social networking services, and IM's. Both of these are totally not worth the price. For people who are usually on the go, and BB would be their device to connect with everything, these plans seems to fail for them. Not to forget, these plans do not provide the internet service for BB browser. So that makes the scenario worse. I also heard that BB App World is not accessible, plus other social networking apps such as Foursquare is also not useable.
How could they come up with this packages which are totally worse than the BIS Bonus? Well, for loyal Hotlink customers, these readily available plans might be another option for BIS services.
It is the BIS Prepaid Packages, comes up with ranges of prices from RM 2.50/day, RM 28/week, and RM 98/month. It provides all the essential BB services.
But one thing that I'm not sure is whether this plan has unlimited usage or not, I didn't made a research on that. Maybe Hotlink are trying to scoop up a bit more money ( a lot actually ) from customers as they know that most of the existing Hotlink subscribers are relying on their quite efficient coverage and good BIS services response ( fb feeds, less lag, minimal connection problem etc. ). But if they continue to rise the price and provide shitty plans, we subscribers would not hesitate on jumping to other telcos.
I didn't make any research on other telco BIS plans, including Maxis postpaid plans, but if any of you who bumped on this thread and uses other BIS plans than mine, come share what's your telco BIS plans provide. Good day everyone
