just would like to do a survey or discussion - is wedding door gifts important? as a guest, do you care of receiving wedding door gifts?

some may think it is a waste, as those gifts would be placed a side or even thrown away - forgotten? personally, do you keep the wedding door gifts?

door gifts are mini appreciation from the bride & groom to all of your friends and family who took their time to come to your wedding. it's important. just spend too much on them from your wedding budget... smile.gif

i do agree door gifts are appreciated on the day itself everyone go "awww....." if the gift is cute then after a while it goes into the rubbish bin...

my experience, the best door gift I receive for attending weddings are heart shaped cookies in small jar & 2 Chocolate in box... tongue.gif

others that i have receive I don't even know where I placed it probably it went missing!!!

what are door gifts?

In my mind door gifts are something like the mini boxes of cake on the table when ur seated, never got anything that could be kept before.

but like a previous forummer said, I think it's a waste of money because it'll b thrown away, but u don't provide then they will say u're stingy.

I've seen door gifts (or at least I think that's a door gift) a cute little macaroon, with the initials of bride n groom on the surface, quite nice, cheap, meaningful, n tasty! tongue.gif

it depends on the item itself. If it's unique / usable, ppl will bring home. If not, then they hardly bother about it. I know because I was into this business before. Now slow down abit.

Those wedding door gifts, seriously...
My fridge is full of chocolates that are from wedding door gifts. Lol. It doesn't taste nice at all and in the end, I'll just throw them all away after a few months. Some give cupcakes but I'm not a big fan of sweets so I don't eat it as well. I'll just leave it on the table after dinner. tongue.gif

It's optional item. Up to individual.
I gave choc chips cookies for my guests and most guests feedback to me they love the cookies and would love me to share the contact of the bakers with them.
So , there's no right or wrong in giving door gifts and it's very much depends on individual budget smile.gif

For my upcoming wedding, my fiancee & I decided not to give any door gifts. Instead we doing those photo booth at the entrance with instant print so that the guests got a photo to take home instead of some random chocolate.

Of course you could also argue that some people might prefer a chocolate over a printed photo icon_idea.gif

not important, but if have budget why not, at least some guests are happy with the door gifts.

my wedding door gift is a mini photo frame with our picture, attached with a thank you note and message 'hopefully you will make use of the photo frame with the pictures of your loved ones'...
