Well The laptop is black cover, but the palm rest keyboard area is slightly purplish. The touch buttons are responsive and useful indeed. Keyboard is nice to type on. But the Right Shift key, Enter, and Backspace is kinda short, I sometimes get mistake but it takes time to get used to it especially the Shift key. Always terclick Up key.

i7-2630QM, performance is seriously there. I can feel the difference even with i7-2620m on the hp.

Gaming wise. Tried on Dirt 3. Comparing HP's i7-2620m with HD6750 to this i7-2630QM with GT550m.

I am not sure if the CPU helped or what. On HP, I could only manage a low settings with around 40fps on average. While on Lenovo, I could do 40fps average on Medium settings. It might be the problem with AMD Architecture with Nvidia.

Heat wise. HP certainly win over Lenovo. On idle HP lurk around 43-46 in a normal day. Lenovo is doing 46-49. While gaming, HP doesnt really get hot. And heat is dissipated at the back of the laptop. Lenovo's vent is on the left right. Heat is felt on the palm rest even on normal usage. Slight heat but its bearable when typing.

The Front button that switches Optimus On or Off isnt very much useful I guess. Or I still have to learn to do the settings? It basically switches 2 mode. Optimus On which mean it will automatically switch to GT550m when needed and HD3000 on normal use. Optimus Off would mean HD3000 all the way for power saving. Though I would like another option that allowed GT550m all the time.

Battery life is kinda awesome if you ask me. 5 hours plus surfing wouldnt be a problem I think. I tried to drain the battery from 100% to 50%, it took me more than 2 hour plus.. near to 3 hours..

I must say lenovo's bundled software are very useful especially the Energy Star which has an option not to charge the battery when its at 40%-50% to maintain its battery health. Technically im on 45% now plugged and its on AC instead of charging.

Overall, I have no regrets of this Lenovo over HP. Its a good buy and it would probably last me a while before I plan to sell off. haha.

Oh ya, JBL does make a difference compared to Altec Lansing on HP. laugh.gif
