i'm comparing lenovo Y470 vs Asus A43sv also.. hehe
for me i adi check the heat sink design for tis 2 model
tis is the temperature for asus


tis is lenovo




for asus.. in the future if u wan to clean up ur heat sink.. u nid to disassemble almost everything at ur mother board


the heat sink for asus is quite long, but i donno it will help for cooling? or tis is the ice cool technology?

for lenovo.. wat u nid to do is juz open up the cover and start cleaning

tis is really easy to lean up ur heat sink juz like my old asus A8 series

asus cum wif 2 years globla warranty.. but u cant extend ur warranty
lenovo 1 year but u can extend ur warranty in ur warranty period..

cum bek to the spec
the spec is almost the same, lenovo got 3 usb+1 esata/usb totalup is 4 usb
asus onli cum wif 3 usb
and one more thing is the adapter for asus was located beside the heat sink.. seems like abit weird on it


for me if i got 3k budget i will take lenovo + extend 1 year warranty
if i got more budget i will add on ram up to 8G.. hehe
anyway.. i'm still considering.. >"<

and Y470 comes with mSATA slot if you want to install mSATA SSD..

Bottomline Ivan,

You've got 3K budget. Just spend it to its Maximum.

Buy as you need, wait while you can. Things will just get better and keep improving and you cant get a perfect laptop that last for ages and no others can match with.

I suggest you get Lenovo and try it out. The build quality is on par with Asus but come with much more features and better specs as well.

you dont have to upgrade straight away during purchase. you can still opt for upgrade within the 1 year warranty period. So where is the Ipoh service centre? assume you've located?

Y470 does have optimus and they've got a dedicated switch for it as well which is very useful. you can opt to turn on Optimus or turn off completely and use HD3000.

what HDD are you planning to upgrade?

and good thing about lenovo is one cover at the back and everything essential is exposed.. rather than Asus that you need to take out whole chasis for cleaning etc..

but hp oli hav dv4 rite?

blah.. why do you even consider the distance of service centres to your house.. Do you even wish to visit them? lol.

I hate to say but I had to go to HP service centre when I got my DV4 because one of its keyboard key is loose.. And hate to say I've been to the Service Centre quite a few times..

I hope I wont need to visit lenovo's except I plan to upgrade the warranty in time.
